The teams are Widnes,Halifax & Barrow.

| Of more interest to me is the team that will lose its current licence. Based on report in this weeks league weekly its not just the ground situation that will play a part it would seem its between Cas and Wakey. A condition regarding the grounds are that any new or upgraded ground must be ready for play by end of 2012 neither clubs will have this ready by then. Cas have agreed to sell current ground but a new one would not be ready in time.
Whoever loses out I hope they are able and willing to challenge the rfl and take further if required.

| I think Widnes are nailed on for a licence, like spymaster says the more interesting decision is going to be who loses out.
I think it might be wakey.

How can any of them challenge it.
They all agreed to it.

You raise a valid point but it is how and what criteria determines the actual team to lose out its more about how the decision is made that may be challenged.

How can it be challenged? There will be no grounds to challenge it.
I dont care who gets kicked out.
All the clubs in SL were happy to vote for it at the start.
They were then happy for new teams to be added.
They have had there noses in the SL trough for long enough.
They have had long enough to get there house in order.
Now is the chance for someone else to try it.

| Why should they challenge it? they wouldn't give a monkleys about any other team as long as they were alright. As stated previously they've all had their noses in the trough for long enough at the expense of CC and CC1 clubs, who seem to be left to rot!

| Like a couple of posters here have said it matters not to me who goes. But my point which seems to have not got through is that unless the process and criteria is applied to all clubs fairly then it could leave a club that loses place ground for a challenge. For example say its decided on the ground situation as ot os how can they pick one club as the other can challenge the process but not the decision to demote a club which you say and I agree with that they all took the dosh with a view that it would not be them.

| I hope it's not Fax.
No disrespect intended to their fans, they're a good lot.
However a second Super League club 10 miles away from us could be seriously detrimental to us expanding our own fan base and, more importantly for me, we'd have no meaningful derby games to aspire to unless we we're lucky enough to draw them or Br*dford in the cup.

| Looks like Widnes get the nod and Halifax get a second bite when the drop is announced.
There is a remote possibility that two SL clubs might get the boot - won't that ruffle some feathers (or is that fur).

| Anyone else find it bizarre that today Widnes are told theu have a licence but the clubs in the mix for demotion find out July 26th. As usual rfl use their own logic.

I'd say it would take a hell of a lot longer to prepare a Championship club for Super League than it would to prepare a Super League Club for the Championship. At least this way Widnes get a headstart in the recruitment stakes.
So I'd say the logic is pretty sound.

There is a strong chance that Halifax could still go into SL.
This will be decide in june. If two SL teams are not up to standard then Fax go up.
Its not going to give them much time is it.
The whole thing should have been sorted today.

Whoever gets demoted in reality will lose players as I assume contracts will be tied to super league status plus unless loaded most will revert to part time so where will this leave the current full time players. As Guess Who says it should have been all dealt with today.
As for Halifax being told to continue with application I believe this is just window dressing to let them down gently. I cannot see 2 clubs being demoted even though it would not bother me.

| Weather its Wakey or Cas or both who drop down it will be a long hard road back to SL.
Fans will loose interest, nobody will want to pump money into a club going nowhere for 3 years.
Personally id get shut of Quins and the Crusaders (could this happen?)

| I think its an absolute disgrace you need a "rugby league licence" its taken the exciment out of the sport completly SL clubs know they are safe for two years pointless. All this talk about making RL a better sport then they need bog standard relegation and promotion 2 up 2 down simple. Teams will get money for gaining promotion and then they can build their club from there. Not having the right criteria Bol**cks look at belle vue, odsal, the jungle, the willows all grounds that are the same as championship clubs
Rant over sorry it just annoys me that small clubs dont get a chance in the SL

| Keko, I agree with you completely, how do you attract new fans to the sport when there doesn't seem to be a realistic and achievable aim, this sport took a turn for the worst when p&r was scrapped in favour of the franchise system, what the hell would those who met in the George that day many years ago think of the sport and how its ran by the rfl today!
