| I think we have heard the same argument everytime from you, when we loose, yet you were all quiet when we won the last 2 games and have scored 100 points in them. I think we were not there today. but lets remember who we were playing, WHITEHAVEN - WHO HAVE NOW PLAYED 3 WON 3. They are bottom of the league yes, but that is due to starting on -9. They were in the same division as us last year. It is a game we wanted to win, of course but travelling to Cumbria is always tricky, and they really needed to get on an even footing in the league tables.
The thing I find amusing is your user name Loyal fan???? Who or what are you loyal to????

| First 10 minutes we control the field well and forced a drop out. Then we concede 3 straight penalties and they score off of the back of it. Discipline wise we just imploded and we went on to concede 16 points off the back of being penalised in the first half.
Second half we improved but every time we looked to be building pressure, we conceded a penalty that relieved it.
Our attack was completely impotent, we might as well put Duffy and Hutch on the transfer list if we're never going to give them the ball. Reinforced by the fact that the first time we passed to a wide man, we scored.
Where's the exiting and entertaining brand of Rugby we were promised? There wasn't much on offer today. It just seemed so easy for Haven to employ the umbrella defence to shut us down and we had no answer, no cheeky grubbers or chips through and apart from Duffy's try, no attempt to use a cut out ball over the top of it.
We lost by 14 points, we conceded 18 in total off of the back of penalties, we need to cut out the dumb rugby and fast.

As loyal fan has been to both Gateshead and today I would think he could post what ever he wanted about the game. If not we might as well only have your opinion on here and lets be done with it.
I went to Gateshead and If I had gone today then I would have posted what I wanted to as well. I'm not as loyal as loyal fan though.

I have to agree with you on this point.
Loyal fan has paid hard earned, money to travel away and pay into the ground.
He like anyone else is entailed to his opinion. We may agree, or may not agree with it but he can give it.

| As per my score prediction post, I just had a feeling we'd get turned over today. Like I said last week, I hoped the rotation system JD likes to employ wouldn't backfire on us this week. I had a feeling it might though. I didn't got to the game today so I can't comment on the performance side of things.
We were not going to win every game this season and anyone who thought otherwise was deluded. Whitehaven are still a good side and on paper are maybe stronger than we are. We've had two easier games so far and this was a big test. Whitehaven is a tough place to go. If the club are really serious about getting out of this division and being a super league club maybe to aid the performance an overnight stop may have been an advantage, but I appreciate the cost implication.
As supporters we have to get behind the club through the good and bad. No doubt today was a bad day and rather than criticise maybe some optimism wouldn't go amiss. But like GW says it's their right. My opinion on that however (as my right) is that it's too negative and fickle.

| I might have posted this harshly cause was that pi**ed off with the commitment from some players today but when you have spent £80 to go watch the team you expect some commitment and effort back, Belcher when they put a kick through was a joke didnt want to put his body on the line and dive on ball just seemed to leave it, as for saying what i want other fans do so why not, Dewsbury earlier in season fans shouting for buster to be dropped and get off pitch he is one of our best and committed players he was good today him andm haythonwaite.
And i don't want to win win win or wouldnt of gone to nearly everygame every season but expect some effort from the lads. Whitehaven were a poor side and we made them look really good, I was with some neutral halifax and couple of barrow fans who hadn't gone to york and they couldn't believe the state of our half backs, to say drake is meant to have an awesome kicking game you could of picked someone from stand to kick it better.

| Whitehaven were far superior to us today. They were faster, more inventive, and much keener. We had nothing to match their half-backs and in a game where we wern't dominating in the forwards as we have so far this season we had nothing to trouble them. Our attack is virtually none existent, and we are totally incabable of scoring from more than ten yards out. As someone else has said we might as well not have any backs as our one move seems to be to drive the ball up the field as near to the centre of the field as possible, if it moves too far wide we desperately move it back inside.
i have got to say that so far this season I have seen some of the most boring matches i have ever seen watching keighley. Dewbury, Hunslet, both Rochdale games, the second half at Gateshead and today were enough to send you to sleep.

| Ref the half backs.
When every body is fit JD and Luke will play together because in the tolouse game they played well together, whereas drake and ryan smith have been playing together for the reserves and against gateshead so maybe JD should have kept that partneship together for todays game.
As for the game today apart from the 1st 10 mins the cougars were playing to much one man rugby down the middle and no kicking game, example in the 1st half on the last tackle Buster threw a pass out to Gav Duffy and he was tackled into touch where as a grubber kick would have turn the defence and giver Gav a better chance of scoring, hopefully this will be the kick up the backside they have needed after the last game and ahalf and we can move on and give the fans something to cheer about next week against Oldham, finally i must say thankyou to the players for coming over and showing there appreciation for the support they got today .

| I have to agree with noddy on that one.
Two well taken trys by Gavin Duffy brought us back in to the game in the second half.
So it's Oldham next Sunday and we can not afford any more slip ups if we are to get promoted.

| Also Paul Drake Scored a perfectly good try that the ref said was called short. It was right under my nose and I filmed it. This would have given us a bonus point.

| Thanks for video Mick. Sums up what people have been saying. I agree with Loyal fan. Belcher should have put his body on the line in that situation, but he probably knows that. Belcher for me has been a little dissapointing this season and certainly needs some work if he's to live up to that potential. Some work for JD to do. Oldham were well beaten yesterday so they'll also be wanting a win. All makes for interesting clash and am gutted I'm going to miss it due to work commitments. I just hope the women take advatnage for the offer and there is a large crowd to spur the lads on to what I hope will be win number 3!

| I have to disagree on the Belcher front.
I think we forget he is still a young a relatively inexperienced player who missed much of last season with injury. I also saw him break the grip of 3 players to get over the line to score our first try. He also put in some critical tackles.
Whilst we are having a go at Belch it is also worth remembering he is the second highest scorer in the team in competitive games this season and only Lawton Duffy and Cartledge have scored more tries.
The people who say he never put his body on the line didn't see the bruises he travelled home with on his face.

What I spoke about was that incident where, in my opinion, any decent full back should have taken that ball. I did't say that he NEVER puts his body on the line.
You've seen more games that me this season Mick so I'll bow to your game time knowledge, but considering Toulouse in the Challenge cup was JD's strongest team (his words). Where was Belcher?

I concede Moss is in great form and would be my first choice full back but as he has a nasty eye injury at the moment and looks likely to be out sometime I don't think Mr Belch is too bad an alternative. Hopefully his form will improve more and more and JD will have a dilemma of which one to start with. I think in the position of fullback or halfback more than any other you mistakes are exposed and your good play can go unnoticed.

| Belcher's a decent prospect playing what is the hardest position on the field to master. You make a mistake at full back, it invariably leads to a try.
I don't think he lacks commitment, just confidence really. I think he needs a sustained run of games in the first team to get that, he's not really had the chance to shine properly at first team level because of the injuries he's had. I think the try he got yesterday will do him the world of good.

I'm with LoyalFan on this. The clue is in his name. Fan is short for fanatic, which means extreme and uncompromising. I am a loyal [u supporter [/u so would never say such things openly. There lies the difference.

| Anyone who pays money to watch the team is a supporter. Some people may express a little more passion in what they say and how they react at matches.I was very dissapointed, putting it lightly, with Sundays performance, the most obvious thing to me was we lacked leadership in the middle of the park.See you all Sunday

| I didn't get to see the game I was (fortunately) up a mountain in Scotland, but we have to remember that JD is new to coaching. We should accept that we won't always get our tactics right but hopefully we will get better as he learns.
With regard freedom of speech, we've been down that road before, and if someone makes criticisms then they in turn can expect to be criticised. Message boards would be rather boring otherwise.
