Glad its a pre season game

Was 18-4 half time jim, according to stealth were not using our three quarters at all.

Well if that was the acid test we failed.

In attack we were so impotent it was unreal. Our threequarters hardly touched the ball, we lacked invention and angles. That said our pack made plendy of yardage, Luke Helliwell looked lively.

Some of our distribution was shocking and we made a lot of handling errors although the conditions were a little slick.

Our discipline was poor, you know what you're going to get with the March brothers and we fell for it big time. We also fell in the old habit of giving dumb penalties late in the tackle count.

Despite conceding 4 tries our defence actually looked really good. We absolutely stuffed their big pack and they generally weren't making 40m per set. If you give sides 10 tackles per possesion and cheap field position away players with the class (and I use that term loosely) of the March brothers will break through and that was the difference between the 2 sides today.

We were VERY poor today. Last year when we moved up to the Championship at the beginning of the season you could see that we had upped the pace. We are now back to the slow (and in our case very slow) pace of Championship 1. We seem to have no idea in attack, and no pace at all. Hopefully the former will improve when JD starts and when the half-backs are more used to one another, but I can't see where the pace is going to come from.

Two positives, our forwards looked good today especially Schickell and Baines, and our defence is still tight.

Well, if we think we are going to win the league with our half's think again.
2 years ago we had probably the best half back pairing in the division.
Last season a half back pairing that held its own with some of the best in the division.
Now both have gone and we have stuck with youth and a utilty back thats been playing confrence
rugby for the past several years.
I personaly wasnt a big fan of Presleys but he could score trys.
Danny Jones was the centre of every play we did and was awesome in defence.
3rd or 4th in the league for us. Hope im wrong and we win it, but i am a realist

We looked to be pretty pedestrian to me from the video.

That's apart from Jermaine. Did he play for the full 80 minutes? If not, then why not?

If the coach believes that players can only manage 20 minutes here and 20 minutes there then he needs to think again - especially when he has such an influential player at his disposal.

He always gives 110% but has only played for less than 50% of the game.

Time for a rethink?

Jamaine started today and probably played a good 50-60 minutes.

Brilliant as the 60 metre break was to set up the try was, I still think his impact would be much more beneficial to the side when he comes off the bench.

Killer has a huge impact in the way he is brought on.
He hurts opposition when they are starting to tire.

We would loose this if he was played all the time.

Answer is,, "We need to clone Jamaine in the same way Dolly the sheep was cloned and have two Killers."

How good would that be?

Let's be honest here the vast majority of teams play with 2 hookers in the 17.

Why? Because the hooker does more running than any other player on the field whilst scampering round to be receiving the PTB every tackle we have the ball.

Is it necessarily a bad thing for Jamaine being the interchange hooker? No. I don't think it is. For example James Roby won the man of steel in this role with Keiron Cunningham at starter.

Modern Rugby League is a 17 man game. Substitutes aren't there because they and as good as the starting 13 like in the past. They're there to have an impact on the game
