Just got in and sat through the tragic news from Cumbria...

We are all familiar with the Whitehaven town centre...how many wrong turnings( and an inadvertent trip around the town centre) have we all endured trying to find the Rec....... there are are plenty of times things seem a million miles away but today its so close....

Similarly the untimely death of Gary Purdham .. didn't know him personally.. but always would have recognized him on his trips to Cougar Park with both Marras and Town ...

To the Haven and Worky mob commiseration's on the loss of one of your own ...........cant say no more..

A mins silence at all RL games this weekend should be the absolute minimum...

Absolutely agree Rach this is really awful we will be holding a minutes silence this week and seeing how our rugby league family can help.

Agreed, this caps a pretty tragic few few months for the folk of West Cumbria.

The devastating floods around Cockermouth and Workington, the coach crash the other week and now this.... It's just tragic.

Any petty differences we have as fans pale into insignificance now. At this time all Rugby League fans should unite.

Off the top of my head i don't think we have a bucket collection booked in for this Sunday but will need some volunteers to do the collection.

Will check in the morning and post to let you know if we can do one this weekend but will need people to help.

Hi all

Just to let you all know i am doing a bucket collection for Gary's family this Sunday. I have a few volunteers so they will be based at the bottom entrance so please go find them if you want to make a contribution.

There will also be a minutes silence before kick off.
