Well done JD, sounds like a good start to a new career. However it is worth bearing in mind the following when considering attendance:
[i"Northern Pride head coach Jason Demetriou has announced his squad to play the North Queensland Cowboys Under 20s at Barlow Park this Saturday, kick-off 5.30pm.
The game is a curtain raiser to the NRL trial between the Cowboys and St. George Illawarra Dragons, which kicks off at 7.30pm."[/i
Even so it's still fantastic and one which many UK SL clubs would envy.

I liked JD - he was honest, said it as it was and was thoroughly professional. I might be a bit controversial here, but I didn't rate his coaching tactics any higher than other coaches we've had. The main difference he made for us was his force of character and the abilty to change a game by bringing himself on and making a difference in terms of onfield leadership, drive and will to win.
I see that Sam Obst and Semi Tadulala are playing for Northern Pride. Got to say I like the name, Northern Pride, I don't know if its got anything to do with the George Hotel and "the sprite of Northern Union" but to my mind it sure sounds like it ............ Bradford should never have changed their name!
What's the chances of doing some sort of link up, a twinning of the clubs and allowing us to screen the latest Northern pride matches in the bar before the Cougars play? just an idea, it might bring in some extra revenue, I'm sure Northern Pride will have their version of MICKY1920.
Semi Tadulala got a try or 2 under his belt I think in his first game for northern pride and I am just awaiting info on how to watch there games as I believe they do stream their games live. I must say I'm a big fan of their colours and the new jersey they wear is very nice.
Yes it was a curtain raiser but it must have been fantastic playing in front of a crowd like that. JD was a nice guy and personally I haven't met a rugby player like him, a very genuine guy that really wanted to take the Cougars brand to a whole new level but unforunately wasn't always fully supported. In my opinion JD as a coach and especially a player has not been replaced by the club, we are definately missing a leader on the field. The games we have played so far including the friendlies there hasn't been any one leader in our team and no one has been able to come on and have an impact like JD. I'm not saying JD cannot be replaced but there is some pretty big boots to fill.
