Quote ="guess who"Most people don't like confrontation. How many people complain about bad service from shops/restaurants. Instead they moan about it and dont go back.
We live in a very pressurised society, some people will use the game as a chance to vent some anger.'"
I think there are two situations:
A group of people debating play - some of the comments derogatory to certain players ability. As long as they are not making a public nuisance of themselves I can't see that being much of a problem.
An individual or group shouting abusive statements at the top of their voice - everyone can hear it even the player's. I don't think there is a place for this in a family oriented sport.
I suppose there is a third situation where someone uses a witty comment to good effect ie player "x" drops ball for second time, witty wag shouts "bl**dy hell "x" have you been using your mums hand cream again"
Rugby League portrays itself as a family sport; we sometimes need to remember that.
