| Quote ="andym1988"Only 6 now in tomorrows King George, still, suppose its better than the three or four that turned up for last years International Stakes.
I can't wait to go and pick up my Racing Post on a cold, dreary winter morning able to look forward to seeing the top NH horses. Flat racing is too much about 'racing politics' and money.
Bit of caution for me with Workforce....
Workforce is far from the banker people are suggesting. He may win handsomely, but I'd rather see what Stoute has to say first. Look at the Oaks and Derby races, lots of horses will have came away from Epsom very sore after running on that ground, with many going on to run lacklustre races since - although Snow Fairy has already shown some are fine on it. But it was the sort of ground that could see a horse hit the wall next time out and possibly even taking months to recover from. Gallop reports are well and good, but we will only truly know if Workforce is A1 when Ryan Moore pulls the trigger tomorrow.
As much as I really do like Harbinger, stepping up to the top level for the first time and giving nearly a stone to Cape Blanco and Workforce may prove too much. Its a real poser of a race.'"
Workforce has had more of a break from its last race then any of the others in this one.
If its as good as we all think it is that when Moore pulls the trigger tomorrow you will be lucky to get 1.1 on betfair

| Big race of the summer today - the King George, looks a bit one sided but Daryakana can go well at a big price (as mentioned by Wire 85 she's 7/2 W/O the big 2 which looks a good price to me).
Big sprints are more my cup of tea at the min though and there's two of those today. Yet to look at the Ascot race properly but there's one I like up at York.
[u15:40 York[/u
Tombi - Some will remember me putting this horse up in the big 6f sprint at Ayr last November, the Ayr Gold Cup. He ran exceptionally well in that race to lead home his group at a massive price (40/1 available in the morning), but sadly for us he still finished out of the placings on the day. He's had a couple of starts this season in a higher grade and over an inadequate trip last time out and has been dropped 5lbs since that run at Ayr last year. The horse loves York as can be seen from his course record (5 Runs, 1 win, 2 2nds, 0 3rds, 1 4th). His only unplaced start over the course cam when beaten under 4 lengths by the Group 1 placed Dream Eater in a listed event last August, his previous start at the course was a length beating by Group 1 and Group 2 winner Regal Parade in a conditions race over 7f whilst he's won CD handicap off just 6lbs lower and been placed off 102 over the course in the past (two Group 1 placed Lesson In Humility). I rate his jockey for today Silvestre De Sousa very very highly and he rides York particularly well (8 wins in 49 rides, £64.00 level stakes profit) and also has a good record in sprint handicaps. Howard Johnson's string have been in decent enough form over the past couple of weeks and he's top rated on the Racing Post Ratings.
Advice: Tombi 3pts win, 1pt place @ 28/1 (Bet365, Boyles, Paddy Power).

| Looking at that Ascot 2.05 again Toolain @ 5/2 looks good
Got a big line of form with Ecliptic going close with it before unseating while giving it 3lbs, Ecliptic finished 2nd to Group 2 winner Libranno and then finished 2nd in a Group 2 itself last time out.

| Spencer's mount p!ssed it. Was tempted to follow his advise in the Daily Star to double his mounts in the 2.15 and 2.45 but didn't bother. If I had, Abergavenny would've probably walked it.
Tenner on Margot Did at 2/1 to see where that gets me.
Honestly thought it was wrapped up until Moore loomed up near the line, gives the form of Memory another boost though.
Just been on Betfair and got a nice little bit on Workforce. I reckon his class and the weight-for-age-allowance will scrape him the race
My idea of the finishing order; Workforce, Daryakana, Harbinger, Cape Blanco, Youmzain, Confront.
Would have Youmzain finishing a bit better if the field size was bigger, he always does well in a big field seemingly.

| What an absolute demolition job from Harbinger. Even on form I don't think Workforce would've been able to touch Harbinger.
Wish I hadn't changed my mind earlier in the week. Think I over thought the whole process which landed me at Workforce , the weight put me off Harbinger but he might as well have had a flea on his back.
Ryan Moore will be the most gutted man in the world now I'd imagine. Peslier on the other hand...

Its funny how the mind can alter in the space of a week...
If I'd followed my initial hunch I could've kicked back and had a cigar with anyone that actually backed Harbinger today. 9/4 midweek and touched 9/2 on the day .
But, I didn't, so onto Goodwood it is. The Sussex looks fascinating with Canford Cliffs set to face Rip Van Winkle.
Zacinto runs tomorrow but doesn't look like he wants to race so far this year so thats a no no.

| Two losers I was confident about and lost 85 notes. Never mind.
If I was told today any horse would win the King George by over ten lengths I'd have said they were an idiot.
Looked a shoe in but how my luck has been lately only had a fairly small bet - but it just won, Ardour at Salisbury. I desperately had to take 1/2, went off 4/9 I think. Couple of debutants that were a bit lively. Glad I didn't bank so much on it to recoup my losses, it won but I don't think my ticker could've coped - certainly had to work for the win.
