| 18-0 but at what cost to the wrestling business?
Mr Wrestlemania is one of his nicknames and it couldn't be more appropriate. Razor, Bret, Jericho, Angle, Flair, Cena, Taker all had classics with him at the biggest event.
Thinking back, there honestly hasn't been anyone better.

Thing is though mate I get the impression that it will have been HBK's wish as well as anyone else's for the match to be set out the way it was - he's been quoted in at least one interview as saying that he's wanted to retire for the last 3 years now but Vince has kept persuading him to carry on.
Not seen the speech yet, but in all honesty (and this isn't a go at Michaels), I can't help but find it hard to believe that this will be his last ever match, only because it's so rare in wrestling for a guy's first retirement match to be his actual one.
Like I said though that's nothing against him, and he comes across really well in that interview re Flair (who I've lost a lot of respect for - stop bleeding every f'ing minute for a start! lol).
Oh, and don't think will ever be watching the Hart v McMahon match again, whoever booked it that way (e.g. stacking the odds against a natural heel) wants shooting.

I worded it wrong - I wasn't suggesting that WWE had a choice in the matter. I was just highlighting that although its great the streak continues, Michaels leaving will leave a huge hole that no-one as yet has the ability to fill.

| I dont care how much he cries or how much ass hes kissed in recent times, Micheals will always be remembered as the guy who didnt have the balls to stand up to mcmahon. Try asking Ric Flair what he really thinks about Micheals or any of the old heads like The Rock, SCSA even the Undertaker and they will tell you a whole different story. I cant imagine there are many tears being shed in the locker room.
Thank god hes gone.

Very very harsh IMO. Michaels was an ar$ehole in his younger years (as he admits himself) but to turn his life around the way he has deserves a lot of credit.
Reckon Taker for one has gained a lot of respect and admiration for him from the old days.
Re Flair, HBK is 10x the overall performer Flair ever was. Michaels left the business (if he has retired forever) whilst still wrestling at an extremely high standard. Flair is a sorry washed-up old guy who used to be a star.

They put on a good show this week, plus Jay Lethal is back and Samoa Joe will be back soon judging by the short video that was shown with him saying "they have spoken and the results will be different, very different"
The ratings in the UK have gone way up especially since January, they are down in the US though due to switching to Mondays while WWE was near Wrestlemania, hopefully they will go up again now.
This week the following matches have been announced for iMPACT! that is 1 hour earlier and Live in the US.
Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson in a Ladder Match
"The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero and Desmond Wolfe
Tara, Angelina Love, ODB and Hamada vs. Daffney, Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne and Lacey Von Erich
X Division Gauntlet Match

Eh?! Read part of an interview the other day with HBK, he wasn't bashing Flair at all.
End of the day it is appauling that Flair has gone to TNA and basically thrown everything HBK & WWE did back at them. The whole thing they did in 2008 must mean f'all to him.

Do you really believe that? The reason Flair has gone to TNA is blatantly obvious, he has no choice. I'm sure he would love to be in a position to retire.

Yeah I do. To be honest I find it impossible to sympathise with Flair - he lived like a king in the 80's & 90's with the limo's, suits, partying etc. At his peak I bet he was one of the highest paid wrestlers in the world. God knows what he earned from his 'retirement' match with HBK.
End of the day he could have stayed with WWE under a Legends contract or been an on-screen performer (e.g. a manager) to earn money, but he just can't be without that spotlight.
If he's skint now after the money he would have earned over the years it's his own fault.
The way he's tarnished his legacy over the last 10 years is one of the reason's why I feel that HBK is the greatest of all-time, not Flair.

100% spot on
hbk may have been a prick over the years but least he knows when to give up. no doubt hbk will be there to manage if he wanted to do that sort of work

I really don't care for Flair at all myself, not in the slightest. My point is all this talk about his retirement in WWE meaning nothing to him is nothing short of rubbish. A legends contract is not going to get a skint man through life.
