| Good to see Cav bouncing back today. Although I think it is fair to say that green has gone. Showing he is made of better stuff than most British sportstars though, takes guts to come back like that just 24 hours after a poor performance.

| As a mate of mine put it "Good to see it really matters. Let's hope the England football team were watching. Really shows the difference and the degree to which some athletes care more about the sport than the pay packet..."

| Renshaw. Take a bow son. Superb work in the build up to that one. Looked like Garmin had made a bit of a gap, but he just barged his way through with his shadow in tow and then bang, gone, over. Sensational.

It was a sensational lead out from Renshaw. Garmin looked to have it set up perfectly with 500m to go but he set up Cav for a relatively comfortable victory.

| Mark Renshaw is a beast of a lead out man, just look at the last stage of the Tour last year. He could have won that stage for himself if he hadn't pulled Cav with him, they were miles clear. In fact if it was anything but the Tour, I would expect Cav to gift him a stage at some point.

| Cav summed it up after the finish, saying that the squad maybe are one or two men light - as a few enlightened punters on here have pointed out too, I should add - but when Renshaw's in that sort of form it doesn't really matter

| Dominant ride by Chavanel today and he's back in yellow. That'll help eradicate the memory of that damn [ipavé[/i that screwed him up so much.

| Armstrong's having a mare. He is due a bit of bad luck after all those years of avoiding trouble in all fairness.

| Looks like Armstrong has thrown the towel in, could not get up those hills, will he finish the tour? what is his motivation to get up Alpe-d'huez? -
Schleck looks very strong he will take some beating if his team do the business in the team time trial.

Alpe d'huez isn't in the tour this year, neither is the team time trial.
I think Armstrong will finish the tour, purely because it is his last one. Schleck looked superb yesterday, as did Sanchez in all fairness (where the hell did he come from, must have been some descent!), but then I would say that as I had money on at about 400 on Betfair with the intention of laying off later in the tour!

| It's between Schleck, Contador and Evans for me, rest fighting for top 5/10 finish. Not a good day for Wiggins but not disastrous, main test will be the Pyrenees and time trial, outside chance for podium if he can handle the Tourmalet. Many twists and turns to come yet though if the first week is anything to go by.

Reckon you can take Evans out of it after today. He looked shot to ribbons. Thought he was going to cough a lung up half way up Col de Madeleine.

He'll have to go some to drop Contador in the mountains. It got to a point yesterday where they agreed to work together I think. If he goes into the ITT with his current lead you'd have to think AS is screwed

| Schleck will need a 1 1/2-2m lead going into the Time Trial to hold off Contador - hope he can do it, especially after Franck's broken elbow earlier in the tour.

They've [url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/cycling/8826502.stmkicked him out[/url! Nothing but a love tap, that. I would hope HTC appeal it. Renshaw's very quickly become my favourite bloke in the peloton.

| Can't believe they've thrown him out. Did they not see Dean's elbow on him first? It probably did warrant a warning on future conduct, but to throw him out after 1 viewing of the incident? Crazy.
