That's a very fair point. Really pi$$es me off what they've done to Cena over the years, from a cool, hip character in 2003 to a completely annoying these days. The way they had him crush an up-and-coming guy like Miz was disgraceful, + his whole marketing/image just sucks.
Time for me to get some of his Word Life merch on eBay I think.

| So what did everyone think to this week's Raw?
And what's with screwing over Evan Bourne?
Isn't he good enough to beat Chavo without help?

Edge & Christian are the greatest tag team ever. Not just because of the amount of titles they held, but because
a. They had more charisma asleep than the bulldogs had on drugs
and
b. E&C Wrestled in an era that didnt involved a body slam, arm bar for 5 minutes, another body slam, a 10 minute arm bar, finisher, pin.

Agree mate, and that's the problem - it's deliberate by WWE because now (unlike the glorious Attitude days) they're aiming their product at kids. It's all gone back to WWE colouring books, foam hands etc (rather then merchanidse for adults like the cool t-shirts they used to do), it's a joke - talk about alienating a big part of your audience.

| Watching 'The Ministry Era' on that well known video site really shows how good WWE was 10 years ago.
I'd mark so much for that Taker and stable again

| WWE's December Pay-Per-View will no longer be known as Armageddon.
On December 13, WWE presents "TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs" from San Antonio, TX.

So that's breaking point - submission matches.
Hell in a cell - I assume all or a vast majority will be in the cell?
Extreme Rules - all gimmick matches
And I'm guessing that TLC will have a lot of just that?
Good move to be honest. Spices up things for the titles to make the usually boring ppvs watchable.

I get Mania out religiously every year, we normally make a little thing out of it too, get a few mates around, have a few beers, few games of Raw v Smackdown beforehand..... get royal rumble out most years, dont normally bother we much else.

| I see S Michaels is still using the sharp shooter.
Does anyone else think that its still a tad off after what Vince did to Bret Hart to actually still be using what is in essence Brets move?

But when you stack the whole hHh Vs SCSA Vs The Rock with Mick Foley, The Taker etc thrown in for good measure it just shows how bad it is in comparison.
Dont get me wrong its not awful but IMHO its not a patch on the how it was in the early 90's
In just seems so forced now an example of that is DX

On Raw he used the figure 4 and HHH the sharp shooter, but yes I do.

Oh no, I [ihate[/i Cena. I don't have the time right now, but I could - and have - posted article-length rants on him and how he is booked. However, during the Attitude Era, when we had The Rock, Jericho, Austin, Foley et al ripping it up on the Mic, the TV rating was at least TV15 - I even have videos and DVDS in my collection from back then that are rated 18. But today, it is TVPG, and Wrestling continues to morph into something else and it really is swings and roundabouts. After the whole Benoit hoo-hah, The 'E have had to tone it down a fair bit and build a whole new audience, from the kids - like when we all began watching Wrestling as kids - and, therefore, Cena is the new kiddies' hero. He is our Hogan. Can't Wrestle for toffee, but is the company's big star, based upon his appeal to the kids. Hopefully as the current target audience matures - as they will, they can't stay six forever - the 'E will no doubt make endeavours to keep up with modern fashions.
Let's not forget, in 1999, Jerry Springer and South park were the top Tv shows, today it's more Hannah Montanna and High School Musical. As such, the 'E are booking their top star(s) to be in-line with this. While I've been sat here writing this, another 200 kids in America have bought John Cena lunchboxes. Why should Vince listen to me? I'll still be watching next week. I don't count, unfortunately. The kids do, but the kids will grow up and, hopefully, if they stay 'into' Wrestling, discover ROH, TNA, hopefully discover youtube and Flair-Steamboat, Hart-Austin, Dynamite, Tiger Mask, Benoit, and demand for their top stars to be something like those greats. A bit like the mid-90s when counter culture became mainstream and the marks groomed by ECW booed Rocky Mavia out of the Arena untill they turned him heel, gave him some edge et Voila, The Rock!
Also, I don't doubt the Rock's ability on the mic; I was a massive Rock mark back in the day, I just find Jericho a tad better for his ability as a Heel and to generate the heat he does.

I find it disgusting that Hunter, who was so outspoken in his criticism of Bret as a person and a Wrestler, and so influential in the whole Montreal bollards, is now using it, too. And doing it wrong, too.

Anyone used to have wrestling matches at school during the early 90's? Remember the Sharpshooter was always a favourite of mine to try and do, along with the classic Bostoncrab.
