| Another busy transfer window, my 2010/11 team :
1. Afinfeev
12. Foster
2. Rafinha
3. Evra
5. Ferdinand
6. Chiellini
15. Vidic
20. Rafael
22. Corluka
4. Miguel Veloso
8. Anderson
11. Jovetic
17. Hamsik
21. Silva
23. Gourcuff
25. Valencia
26. Obertan
7. Aguero
9. Dzeko
10. Rooney
19. Welbeck

I think I took the Brazil job too early, I'll take the next international job that comes up, as long as it's expectations aren't too great and they are a decent team, and try to build on them.

| Sat in 12th at the half way stage of the season. W 8, D 2, L 9 P26 GD -13. Reasonably pleased as it has become obvious to me that the Wigan strike force is quite simply not up to task in the premiership. Working hard to get a striker to get me 15 a season, I signed Fonseca for 750k. He has hit me 5 so far and is doing well as a target man when i play the bigger teams. Scharner is leaving in the january window. It was either lose him for nothing in the summer or get £4mil for him in January. Smiljanic is coming in as his replacement for £2.9mil.
High point has been a 2-1 victory over Spurs at the DW as most of my points have been accumulated against the bottom 5-6. Goal is to stay out of the relegation fight and try inch towards mid table before some more rebuilding in the off season

| A run of 10 games without a win (mainly high scoring draws) has seen me slip from 7th to 12th. Had to sell Rodallega to QPR for £10m (couldn't turn that down) but then I turned down offers for Steven Taylor and N'Zogbia and they got a tad upset.
Signed Ondřej Mazuch from Fiorentina who is a RB or CB and got a few irons in the fire for a new striker. Hoping that I can start to turn draws into wins and end the season well.
Not sure whether I want to restart when the patch comes through as I'm building a half decent side.

=#8040FFGood team but slightly overpaid for Dzeko, I usually pick him up for 5m upfront + 20m over 48 months, I'd also look into Neuer/Lloris/Akinfeev because VDS wont last too long.
Kadlec is also a brilliant buy, young striker got 57 goals for me in his first season at Rangers along with 30 assists.

Cheers, its the first time i've bought him so didn't know the going rate. He's got 9 in 6 for me so far. Aye i was looking at a new keeper but just wasn't in the mood for searching. I'll get one in Jan.
Will look into Kadlec. 57 goals is a great return!

| I'm Sheffield Wednesday. I did realise it would take me a few seasons to gain the club into any sort "potential big club status" again, so I've constructed my tactics and got an half decent assistant manager with excellent motivational attributes, and I go on holiday from time to time to try and speed my progress up so I can finally get into the premier league.
I've just consolidated the club and stuck with youngsters. In the running of the club, I have spent 250K on players in total, and made around 10million in players sold. I do however when selling players make sure I get 50% of the next fee when the player is sold bu the buying club.
I'm in December 2013 and after seasons of finishing mid-table, I'm finally seeing myself challenging into the play offs.
If I say so myself, I'm building the club into the most well run club in British Football.
The training facilities are fantastic, youth facilities are getting upgraded, and the stadium is now 45,000 capacity. I've managed to keep my weekly salary around 30K less than my budget will allow, and if that world class player does come along, I have money in reserve. From when I took over, the club had around 4 million, but I have got rid of the deadwood, bought in many frees and also I bring 4 loanees in each season. As I am progressing and trying to build a dynasty however, I would prefer most my players in key positions to be contracted to the club, although I have to do what is best for the club financially.
On the playing side, I think this season I will come just short but I've got Anichibe (sp) on a free and hopefully next season with a few new experience faces to blend in with the promising youngsters and potential wonderkids, I will be looking for promotion. I will however be very stingent when I do get into the premierleague and expect to get relegated straight after, but my players should benefit from the experience and then bounce straight back up, and then hopefully that season they fair better.

| Started a new game as AZ in Holland. Currently 2 points clear at the top after an away win at previous leaders PSV. I've promised the title so I have to deliver. Unfortunately I went out of the Champions League quite meekly. My squad is incredibly versatile, but the players I bring in are mainly English Championship standard. Hoping to bring Daniel De Ridder back to Holland as he's on the fringes at Wigan, which is an indication of the kind of player I have to go for. A good technique and first touch are the main thing for the style I'm playing. I'm concentrating on making a profit in the transfer market by allowing my better players to go to bigger clubs when the opportunity arises.

| Things are looking good at Tottenham. I promised a continental finish through the league, and i am well on course for that, and i am pushing very hard for Champions League. I'm currently sitting in 5th place but only 4 points behind 2nd. Its very tight, and i've also just beat Liverpool over 2 legs to go through to the league cup final. So far so good.
I've just accepted a bid of £10.75million for Corluka as he was unhappy and wanted a move, so i accepted and brought in Srna to replace him at right back, so a very reasonable replacement and also just as versatile. I am hoping to kick on and snatch 4th place, but the main aim is to guarentee finishing 5th, anything below that would be classed as unacceptable, but that looks more than likely at the minute.

| I'm terribly confused. I won the league with Arsenal ![Mr. Green icon_mrgreen.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_mrgreen.gif) and ended up with a £72m budget for the next season. I spent £29m on three defenders buying the replacements for Sagna, Clichy and Senderos (When they get too old in a season or too) and spent £28m on Wayne Rooney. I had spent six or so years bumming him up in the press and with Man United in mid table with a terrible squad I bid £28m for him. Bobby Charlton said it was too good to turn down and Rooney jumped at the chance, mentioning his desire to work with me in the press.
I look at the job security screen after an unbeaten start to the season and see I've got a status of 'under review'. Turns out the fans are 'devestated' that I signed Wayne Rooney and incensed by the decision to sell Alexandre Song to Chelsea for £7.5m. Rooney (Still only 27) has a CA of 184, fourth in the list of the best players in the world. Song has a CA of 139.
Why? Just why? Are you telling me that if Arsenal signed Wayne Rooney their fans would want their manager out?

Because Footy Manager likes to be daft. Take my Wigan game. I'm in a relegation scrap but still got offered the Ivory Coast job for the World Cup with no experience or an ability to speak french. Extremely frustrating for my team at the moment. I'm playing very well created between 5 and 7 clear cut chances per game but I'm lucky if my strikers take one. Rodallega is incredibly frustrating and will be gone in the summer if I'm still there. Yes he is fast but by christ he misses some chances!

| Started a new game as West Ham. No transfer budget, regardless of what option I took regarding league performance. So I figured I'd take top half finish. No sense going for undue pressure on myself. Got Sol Campbell & Mark Viduka on free transfers. Loaned Paul Codrea from Siena til the end of the season. Sold Jack Collison to Liverpool for £5 million with clauses that could take it to £10 million. Sold Nigel Quashie to QPR for £775k.
Looking at bringing in 1 or 2 more players before the end of Aug. Looking at Tobias Linderoth from Galatasaray.
Currently 7th in the league after 2 games. Drew against Man Utd 1-1 and beat Burnley 2-0. Did look at Van Nistelroy as Real want rid and are offering him for free. However, he wanted over £100k a week and my wage budget won't stretch that far, and even if it did I wouldn't spend that on a player of his age

| Managed to win the league cup beating United 4-2 on penalties. It was 0-0 after full time, then Berbatov scored after 112 minutes, and was miles offside, however the goal scored despite my players complaining to the lines man. Then Defoe banged one in for me after 117 minutes to bring it back 1-1, and then onto penalties. Great win and the boards and fans were very happy.
Also, i'm not sitting 4 points clear of Arsenal in 4th place on the same games, with only 9 league games to go, so i would say i am now fravourite for 4th place, although i have to play Arsenal away and Chelsea away, the Arsenal game is massive because i could then afford to lose to Chelsea if i beat Arsenal. Even if i finish 5th, it will have been a very successful season with the media predicting me to finish 8th and win nothing, although i backed myself and chose a continental finish and 5th would do that. I want Champions League obviously. I'm also in the 6th round of the FA cup, playing Fulham so i should win that, although they have beat me once this season, but the board wanted me to reach the 6th round, anything else is a bonus.
I can also see a bit of a clear out in the summer transfer window, as i don't need both Bentley and Lennon so one of them will be going, and so far Bentley has been performing slightly better, however, i intend to sign a top right winger so they will only be back up but not made any decisions, concentrating on this season first.

There really aren't many better than Lennon on the game. I bet there are other areas of the team you would be better focusing on.

I'm struggling to get him playing well to be honest. Hes also really struggling to force his way into the England side, having missed out on the last 5 squad selections. Maybe i'm not using him right, i don't know but so far he's not impressed me. I've got him winger attacking, i would have thought that's what he would have been best at. TBH, Bentley hasn't been an awful lot better, so it's going to be a tough decision, but i don't need both of them.

Got Neuer for £25m but he knocked me back saying he didn't want to leave Shalke. They wanted £51m at one point, same with Akinfeev. Ended up with Frey. Got him for £15m + Kuszack. Not bad business.
Kadlec. 3 league sub appearances and 2 goals. Got him for £3.6, breaking him into the squad gently, he's started a cup match but thats it. Looking good ![Thumbs up icon_thumb.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_thumb.gif)

I find 'normal' wingers don't perform with 'attacking' as their responsbility. I have found that those settings work better with AML/R/FC players like Messi, Van Persie and Jovetic etc who can also play up front.
I use Jovetic and Jerez as 'inside forward/attack' at home and 'winger/support' away. They are both around 7.60 average ratings, plenty off assists and Jovetic is on 12 goals in my current season and I've not reached Christmas.
Rooney has 16 in 9, that'll shut those Arsenal fans up a little I hope.
But I'm getting annoyed with weak teams coming back against me. I was 3-0 up at Everton after 83 minutes, finished 3-3 with three Yakubu penalties, all from long balls miraculously brought down and stupid challenges. Even more frustrating is that none of the culprits had instructions to tackle hard, mark tightly etc. Next game I was 3-0 up at home to Sunderland after 74 minutes and lost 4-3 with 2 penalties and two 35 yard screamers. I've tried going counter attacking, tried leaving it, tried playing possession, tried throwing on extra defensive players but every time I get a lead against a mid table side the goals start flooding in like an irresistable force.
Penalties are another strange one on this version. I've conceded 14 in 18 games, all have been scored. I lost on penalties to Stockport in the league cup 12-11 only to be put through into the next round ![Confused icon_confused.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_confused.gif)

| I have Jovetic and I've never been able to use him that well. Every now and then he'd turn it on, but I've found Hazard to be superior. Have you retrained any of Jovetic's PPM's?
I play him as an inside forward on the AML position, but he just never seemed to cut it.

I have both Hazard and Jovetic at Tottenham and so far, Jovetic has been much better than Hazard.

I'll try that with Lennon and see what how it goes in the remaining games. If i'm honest, i've struggled to get the best out of both Lennon and Bentley so far this season, i've been rotating the two with occasionally throwing Modric on the right.
On the topic of penalties, that happened to me a few times on older versions, were i would lose on Penalties, only to be put through anyway, but i can't say i've come across it so far on 2010.

| Managed to scrape 4th positions, despite not in the best of the form finishing the season. I drew to Everton, which left the game with Chelsea massive and i managed to draw, which left Arsenal in pole position to get 4th, however, they had to play United and i played City. I won 3-1 and Arsenal lost 1-0, so that put me back in the lead with just 2 games to go with games against Wigan and Stoke remaining, i won both games comfortably, and got the last champions league spot. Its been a very, very good season, but next season i have gone for title challenge, so we must deliver.
Due to me deciding we are capable of challenging for the title next season, i am going to be making a few changes to the squad, and quite big changes too. I'm looking to offload Kranjcar (I am looking for £10million, and i have just accepted a bid from Napoli of that amount), Huddleston, O'Hara and Dos Santos are also hopefully going to leave to give me some more money on top of the £27million i have been given by the board.
I have also decided to keep both Lennon and Bentley as both started to play pretty well towards the back end of the season so i will see how they start the new season. With the money i will have, i will be looking to bring in a versatile defender that is fairly cheap but will prevent the same thing happening at the start of last season when i got numerous injuries in defence and was lacking cover. I will also be looking for a top defensive midfielder. Apart from that, i am very happy with my squad. I have the likes of Jovetic and Hazard on the left who are very young. I recently signed Kadlec who only played 4 games and scored in all 4, so can't complain. I also have Buonanotte who played very, very well last season keeping Modric out for a good run of games, although the younger players didn't play all that many games so i will be looking to bring these in a lot more this season as they have huge potential.

| The new season is about to start and i have been drawn against AS Monaco in the Champions League qualifier, i'm confident of beating them.
Transfers Out:
Niko Kranjcar (£10million), Tom Huddlestone (£7.5million), Jamie O'Hara (£2.5million), Kyle Naugthon (£7.5million).
Transfers In:
Miguel Veloso (£20million), Joao Moutinho (£22.5million), Franco Zucilini (£15million), Yoann Gourcuff (£19.5million).
I have also loaned out Dos Santos for the season as i feel he has some potential but will not be a first regular this season. Also, I am expecting to see the back of Diarra.
So, my team is as follows:
Gomes
Srna
Dawson
King
Bassong
Gourcuff (Right winger)
Veloso (Defensive midfielder)
Jovetic (Left winger)
Modric (Advanced play maker)
Keane
Defoe
Subs:
Woodgate
Palacios
Moutinho
Buonanotte/Hazard
Bentley/Lennon
Pavlyuchenko
Crouch
Back-up:
Cudicini
Assou-Ekotto
Bale
Hutton
Diarra (Transfer listed)
Zuculini (Under 20)
Lennon/Bentley
Hazard/Buonanotte
Kadlec (Under 20)
Verratti (Under 20)
I have numerous options in every position and i competed very well in every compeition last season, and i am involved in an additional competition (providing i qualify) this season in the shape of the Champions League, so i will be looking to rotate my squad quite a lot through-out the season and also looking to use the youngsters a lot more that i didn't use so much last season.

| Why did you sell Naughton? He always turns out to be one of the better right backs on the game, and he's English which always helps with the rulings.

| =#8000FFJust completed my first season with OM, was a bit strange at first seems I know nothing about Ligue 1 and only a few of the OM players, won the league with a game to spare and lost in the French cup final (Lyon) and CL quarter final (Juve) made an astounding 72m profit on the year though meaning I can bolster the rather dodgy looking back 4 (Heinze is the 2nd best player in it
)
