Why was he not gracious? All I saw was him clapping Lewis.
Anyway Taylor had two cracking games, the Anderson one was top notch as was the Lewis game. I knew Lewis would not back it up though and Wade would come out on top.

| Quote ="Dan_FC"There's a difference between creating a good atmosphere and deliberately trying to put players off, the crowd in Dublin have been the latter. They wanted Taylor and Wade to miss hence why they'd boo and shout when they were throwing and held order while the other player threw. I go to the world championships, the Premier League in the Echo Arena and Blackpool every year, the atmosphere is good and good banter it seemed different at times this week.'"
You either must have selective hearing or Sky are piping boos and catcalls onto the TV coverage that aren't happening in the arena.
Heard plenty of instances in other tournaments, the Premier League and the Worlds of idiots trying to put players off. Ironically one of the biggest whiners about it on stage is Taylor, who has nothing to say when he's got a massive crowd behind him singing "Walking in a Taylor wonderland" while his opponent is throwing.
Darts has sold its soul. If it's happy being the new football - and attracting the drunken idiots that go with it - then fair enough, some people are going to get very rich off the back of it.

Ok, I didn't mean you never ever get people shouting out while a player is throwing, that's always gone on. But I've never know the majority of a crowd to constantly boo while a player is throwing to put them off.

Taylor often asks the referee to call for order and there's nothing wrong with that but I've never heard him complain during an interview or off the stage. As I've said I've never heard the majority of a crowd booing like that to put a player off.

Don't kid yourself, there's a lot more people getting rich through darts these days. Just have a look at the world rankings.

| Got to say speaking for myself I find the booing cringeworthy, especially the way King is treated. If I was a top player myself I would try to shut it out by thinking about my trip to the bank.

Really good group, Taylor v Hankey will be great for the crowd, I think Taylor will beat him comfortably though 'The Count' has missed most of the BDO season with an injury and I can't see him being anywhere near ready for Taylor.

Make you right, fancied Wes Newton to have a good run before the draw but in the same group as Taylor makes it tricky. Going Wednesday and Thursday so hoping Hankey and Taylor have opposite results in the first set of games so they end up playing on Wednesday when the group gets decided.

No, she didn't qualify. Stacy Bromberg won the PDC Woman's World Championship so she's here this year. Dave Chisnall playing superb here, 4-1 up on Whitlock.

Awful night of darts really with Chisnall and perhaps Jones and O'Shea being the only real shining lights.
Still hopefully its just first night nerves and the standard will improve from here on in.

| Well played Ted Hankey, superb. I like the way ITV try to pin it on Taylor's glasses, Hankey was inspired, big scores, big finishes and got the early breaks.
Jaws played a blinder against Barney too, not seen that Lloyd turn up for many years.

| I think a few of the BDO lads have put in a fair showing so far, proving that some of them are good enough to mix it in the PDC. Perhaps they'd be better off moving across in the near future.

Good shout, they've really impressed. I've always been a Tony O'Shea fan, he's got the game, personality, walk on and connection with the crowd to be a big hit in the PDC, I've wanted him to come over for a while now and hopefully he'll win Lakeside in January and move over following. Dave Chisnell's showed how good he can be too.

Agree about O'Shea, a real shame he's never won anything. Hankey's potentially another, and I really think Waites should make the move after the world championships (think he could win it). Chisnall definitely has the ability, but I think he needs more consistency. If he moves now he may just get mullered and downhearted, staying in the BDO for a bit longer could be the best for him for now.

And at the end of the day he only won it because he had the throw in the final leg, Taylor averaged a mere 96 and was still only beaten by the throw

I think you'll find he was simply beaten by the better player, jesus, you should write and ask SKY for a job because your tinted specs view of Taylor is as bad as their view is, pathetic. Surprised you didn't blame Taylor's glasses for the defeat. Taylor may have averaged 96 but Hankey averaged 103.75, he hit more 180's and more 140's than Taylor and missed two darts for the match at when in front at 4-3. so taking all of that into account Taylor lost because of the throw? have a day off.

He lost because of the throw, it's as clear as day.
If Phil had won the bull before the match he'd have won the match. Simples

How many darts at a double did Taylor have against Hankey's throw? Not as many as Hankey had on Taylor's I don't think.
Hankey outplayed Taylor on the night, simple as that.
