Yep, my favourite non-Rams player probably. The only thing that annoys me about him is all the adverts he does and even one or two of them have actually been funny.
Better than Brady IMO as well....

Thats the thing hes an ace player and I enjoy watching him its just his whingeing and spitting his dummy out after every incompletion I dont like, and the fact that he thinks he deserves to win everything and complete every pass. Oh and that stupid feckin chicken dance he does when he calls an audible.
I also think the NFL kisses his ass just because his Dad once played and is best friends with all the commentators/ executives. Dont get me wrong hes deserved most of the awards hes won but sometimes it seems hes given some just because hes Peyton Manning not because hes necessarily had the best season, at the end of the day he was a #1 pick so he should be that good and the commentators act like he was undrafted and shocked every time he does what hes paid for

You just come across as bitter LFC, just because you wish New England had a QB as good as Peyton.
Got to admit i'm not a big fan of his, he is phenomenally good, but there is just something i can't put my finger on about him which i just don't like.
I like alot of non-Packers players but my favourite is either MJD or Schaub.

Stat wise yeah but when you consider hes paid twice as much he should be better than Brady
The thing that impresses me about Brady other than his play is the fact hes renegotiated his contract a few times to keep players like Moss on the roster, I dont think many others would/have done this and it shows that hes not just in it for the money(although he still gets paid a shed load). Hes in it to win games and trophies and hes one of the best at that without a doubt!!
I just hate the Colts in general TBH too because we used to be in the same division it just happens cock nose plays for them too

Has anyone see the video of Matthew Stafford mic'd up for the Lions v Browns game?
www.nfl.com/videos/detroit-lions ... d-mic-d-up
Really good video, I liked him before but I'm even more impressed by him now. Would love to have had him as our franchise QB. Of the QB's being touted for this year's draft I've heard that the crop isn't very strong. I've only seen highlights of Clausen and Locker and can't really make judgement on them.

Not quite.
Manning 2008= $ 11,504,320
Brady 2008= $ 8,001,320
Plus in all but two years since 2000 Brady has a signing bonus for some strange reason, Peyton doesn't.

Yeah I saw it I admire the kid for that and it was almost like something from a movie it was excellent
I thought he was gonna do some serious damage against Green Bay the other day though when the game was gone, he looked in agony with his left shoulder.
Daunte Culpepper didnt look very happy before/during the game

Still quite a bit more but I was exagerating the point
Thats because he redoes his contract a lot to help get a little extra room under the cap to resign players like I said before!!

| What ridiculous amount of our cap is Marvellous Mark Bulger taking up? I've heard he took in the region of $9mil last year and i assume that's gone up. Also any idea what Jackson is on? Think he signed a mega bucks deal last year?

I'm sure I read that Bulger is set to get $8.5 million next season so I wouldn't have thought it was that much as it goes up each season doesn't it? Marc will obviously have to either re-structure hs contract or he's gone, the latter being more likely.

Don't know what he is on this year but last year it is:
Bulger was $ 7,002,400 total salary. Base salary of $7 million with the $2,400 in bonus. Plus a $12 million signing bonus. His cap hit was $9 million.
Jackson was $ 12,000,000. $605k base salary no bonuses and a $11.395 signing bonus. Cap hit of $3 million.

2010 = no salary cap I believe. Dan Snyder will be wetting himself over this and he'll be getting that fat cheque book of his out if there are any decent players to be had for 2010. But it'll do no good.

Not necessarily. If a new CBA is signed, which I think it will be, then the cap will be in place for next year once again. We had all this talk of no salary cap about 3 years ago and it never came to anything.

Exactly. Plus they'd then be over the following year when the cap was/or likely would be reintroduced.
The likelihood of no new CBA is minimal. It'd only benefit two or three teams significantly. Washington, Dallas and the Raiders. The lesser teams wouldn't agree. The lesser players wouldn't agree either becuase they'd have no minimum contract.
They definately need a rookie pay scale though. Players like Crabtree only in it for the $$$ have proved nothing. Vernon Gholston is being paid a ridiculous amount by the Jets, and has made a total of 24 tackles in two years and isn't even active.

| I'm convinced there will be a new CBA. Like Conroy said, only a few teams would not want a cap.

Matthew Stafford signed a rookie contract that was more or less the same as the last one Tom Brady got too !!!
I think they definately should bring in a rookie salary cap ASAP

I agree but it'd be extremely difficult.
What do you make it? Number 1 pick gets X amount? Player 2 to 5 get X? etc
What about difference in position. QB's would/should be worth more than another position even if taken in the same spot.

| Maybe a rookie cap should be introduced as a maximum amount with the ability to earn on top when hitting targets. So Stafford would say trigger a payment for reaching 3000 yard and 10 TD's etc?
Chuffing Michael Turner looks as though he is going to play which balls up my backfield as i had settled on Snelling for this week. Toss up between Forsett and Jones now
