It won't end well

Anything can happen in a cup tie, against a Superleague side, away from home but we can only be happpy with our two draws so far.

Home draw is always nice but I think we would have taken that before the draw was made.

Atmosphere won’t be quite as hostile as usual given it’s a cup game and due to Cas’ form which I think will influence the size of the home support.

In years gone by that would be a very tricky draw but sadly Cas are a shadow of their former selves just now. Should be straight forward as long as the attitude is right.

Sunday afternoon is just a bit meh. Cas don't share their stadium with anyone & it isn't on TV, so why can't we do a Saturday afternoon? More chance of making a day of it and not feeling like Monday is looming over your shoulder etc.

You take out all your fans who play or coach in the men's community game with a Saturday afternoon kick off. Plus on that weekend you'd be up against the Grand National as well which may decrease the crowd slightly too.

Does a Sunday not make it slightly more difficult for anyone involved in the junior game as well?

Friday night could have been another option. For me, Sunday afternoon at Cas is just pointless.

Do they not usually postpone the amateur calendar on cup weekends, long time since I coached/played but they did use to have free weeks for cup game weekends

Absolutely no idea.

ATEOTD the pro game shouldn't be pivoting around the amateur game. Stick it on a Saturday PM, put a deal on for a ticket and a coach and take a bucket load of rowdy fans over to the jungle.

No there’s a full set of fixtures. We get blank weekends for the cup final, magic weekend and bank holidays normally but that’s it.

Good point about the National, would've knocked a few off the crowd. Sundays fine by me.

There's also football. As much as some wish to deny it, quite a few folk that watch RL also watch football. Leeds Utd are at home on Sat 13th, and I would imagine a lot of the footy-loving folk in Castleford will probably follow Leeds.

Sunday afternoon is, IMHO, the ideal time. Perhaps the tickets are still a bit pricey though for what is, in effect, a "bonus" game.
