| Excited to have it back.
I’d go
Field
French
King
Wardle
Marshall
Smith
Cust
Cooper
Powell
Byrne
Farrell
KPP
Smithies
Havard
Ellis
Singleton
Isa
Mago, Miski, Shorrocks and O’Neill to miss out.
Unsure who he fancies as starting props and who is his 4th on the bench wouldnt surprise me to see ONeill, Shorrocks or Mago in for Isa.

Same here. Only one I’m torn on is the use of Singleton from the bench. If he’s not starting, I’d be tempted to go with Mago. The other 16 are pretty easy picks IMO. One thing we can’t do again is go with 4 props on the bench like in the play offs semi.

| Most of the team picks itself - Peet's main tasks with selection are deciding are better starting props and who are better bench props, whether we want to use two interchanges on a hooker rotation and whether we feel we need a backrower/centre in Willie Isa on the bench.
I personally don't think we need Isa with the versatility of some of our front rowers/back rowers. I think we need to get into the habit of using interchanges for #9 to mix it up mid game and to give Powell a breather. The decision around starting/bench props is tougher and there will likely be different opinions. Definitely think Cooper should start - outside of that Im not sure it matters too much.

The sad thing about Singo is two fold
1. He's easily (in regards to ability) the worst prop we've got, however, he'll play most weeks.
2. He'll undoubtedly get a two year deal, taking up that converted "WTF" contract extension slot Radders seems to love to give to players who aren't good enough..

Agreed, not sure what Peet sees in him but obviously he knows more about the game than me. He did come off the bench in the friendly so maybe demoted from his automatic starter role.
Clubb in 2019 was a dreadful extension, Isa in 2021 wasn’t great, Singleton will be next.

Glad someone agrees. Some on here have him as some kinda mystical prop who performs magic that the lay person can't see.
I'll admit tho, there's two parts & two completely different issues when it comes to Singo imo
1. I don't think it's about Peet "knowing more about rugby" it's more about Peet valuing certain things over others. I'll agree it's a tough decision between Mago and Singo. I'd understand why Singo is picked. I'd pick Mago tho. Work rate Vs the chance of something special..
But,
2. If he's offered a new contract, then it's a real lack of RL IQ by the club. Fans (other than those who love to clap) won't be happy and the team won't progress either. It's an easy win to replace him imo. Promote Byrne (already better) or, go to market. It can't be hard to find someone better.

Prop rotation will be interesting and also I think Isa will start with KPP coming off the bench after 25.

How we use Isa and KPP this season will be interesting. KPP could be a pretty useful option after 25 as you say to help open the game up.

I’d be telling Isa to rip in for 25 minutes. Maximum effort and involvement/high work rate.
Bring him off for KPP to add some impact once the initial sting has gone out of the game.
Would look to then bring him back on for the last 10/15 to tighten things up as we hopefully close out the game.

Agree with your 17 however, I think that Singleton and Isa will start in place of Cooper and KPP.

| A change of approach maybe looking at the team selected, with Cooper and Havard starting and they are probably are best go forward options in the middle. KPP at second row, Brad O’Neill bench and Isa 18th man. Glad Peet seems to have learned from having no options other than props in the play off semi.

Singo is underrated. I’d happily swap any of our props at Leeds (bar Oledzki) for him. He plays well in big games…..

| We look very small in contact and getting yardage is still difficult. We’ll have no problem when we get in the opposition 20m but we have to get there.

| Weird half really. Played some top stuff at times, been so sloppy at others and goal kicking has let us down. The atmosphere is adding to the game and we’ve not helped ourselves at points. I see enough to know it won’t be boring again this season.

| Tony King can't defend. Been saying it since before we signed him. We targeted him at Wire last year and now teams are doing the same Vs us - Wigan's gift to the the rest of SL.
Outside of that, there's positives and we've left points on the table. Not the end of the world, but we need to be better in this half.
As a side note, having three quota lads not playing highlights how wrong we've got it on that front.

He’s been outstanding taking that 1 incident out.
Easy fix up with a good coach.
