| Outstanding performance today.
What was interesting was to see he could be very effective in the traditional 13 role.
It was a very Cam Murray/Victor Radley style performance.
Did the tough stuff but also provided the link between the backs and the forwards which he seemed to struggle with whilst he took on the role with us.
After that performance it will be interesting to see if he gets another run for us in the traditional loose forwards role particularly when KPP returns.

| Batty has played well this season as all of our team being the Challenge Cup holders so far (it being the only trophy to be won at this moment) and knocking Stains out in the first meaningful game the second being the final.

Correct on Bateman. The expectations on him are crazy at times and by anyone’s standards he’s having a good season. The cup final summed up how well he has to play to get any praise from tv pundits, journalists etc. He makes 40 tackles, runs 180 metres and hardly gets a mention after the game and was nowhere in the Lance Todd voting.

| I see the Cherry & White tinted goggles are out, Batey (as it should be spelled) is currently playing at 80% of what he was playing before he left. Last season was 70%, some fans really to need to stop bullting certain players up just because they are your favourites

Batty is how it is pronounced by everyone only the fools who cannot see how good he is as proven time and time again.
to be truthful i dont give a about someone who only moans at certain players as if they themselves are any creditable source of information on said players.
All Wigan players are my favourites and at this moment we are the Challenge Cup holders not Stains,Wire,Leeds or any other team so Batty and the rest of my Club are doing pretty well this season.

You see you've made a mistake in thinking that Bateman's nickname must use his true name up to the "e" and not the 1 letter earlier at the "t"
You've then unilaterally decided that a "y" must be added after the Vowel e without recognising that it is, under ECHR (European convention of Human rights) acceptable for someone to utilise the more commonly used shortening and "ty" approach
Radlinski was known as Rads or Radders - Who decided he or anyone else could add an S to the back of RAD? Or put an extra "ders" on the end?
Farrell (Andrew or Liam) are known as Faz - Where did the "Z" come from????
Heaven help you figure out why Edwards was "Giz", Tuigamala was "Inga" or Offiah was "Chariots"
I could go on - I always thought Nicknames was an often under discussed, interesting and informative subject
To be fair though, it's the closest you've been to being right or handing out a lesson on a subject so well done

What performance trackers do you use to come up with those percentages? Why not 75% and 85% How can you tell if someone has improved by 10%? Which bit of his game would that be?
I thought he was awful last season (by his high standards) and i hold him in very high esteem which is why he is in my all time wigan 13 alongside Betts but that was from his first stint with us. I don't think he is near peak Bateman yet though but has admittedly been a hell of a lot better this season than he was the last. He is playing well.
