I know why, but I totally disagree with it

Will be interesting if Powell and Hastings play. They both put in a massive shift on Friday. 62 tackles by Powell and 27 carries and 146m by Hastings.

Both are our key players at the moment.

I can’t see either playing even though they’re in the squad but we’ll see. The squad named is stronger than I expected tbh and if we use all those guys named, hopefully we can avoid a heavy defeat and learn a bit about a few of the young lads.

Totally agree with this decision. If we can prioritise the cup in the short term we have a chance to get a trophy on the honours board, which is better than a regular win/loss in the season. Added bonus of giving some younger players the experience of first team.

I’m happy with the team. Looking forward to seeing some of these young lads get a run out.

I'm wincing looking at the squad. Tuesday could end up turning very ugly.

Even so, I think Lammy's making the correct decision for our season, obviously with keeping players fresh for the semi-final, but also to protect players from picking up the sorts of injuries that would likely come from playing two massive games back to back. Taking whatever comes our way on the chin could be a prerequisite for us picking up silverware this year.

It's a stronger squad than I was expecting. I can't see all those senior players being involved come match day.

Couple of Saints fans on their own personal board where they hide away saying what a disgrace we are for resting players. I know there’s a rivalry and a dislike there but even the most one eyed Saints fan could surely see what a poor situation this is. One said that at a time when the game needs these big fixtures the most, we’re at fault for ruining it but it’s the league themselves that have messed this up. They were bob on that the game needs these fixtures to be attractive as possible, so why plan it on a midweek before the cup semis?!

I suppose when you’ve not won the cup for 12 years and only made one final in that time, you can’t really appreciate the difficulty.

Ultimate Lam wants to keep his job and he needs to win at least one of the two this season to do so.

Come on, literally 1 person has criticised Wigan whilst another couple have said they don’t blame them. As for us not appreciating the difficulty of juggling our squad prior to a semi final I think you know that’s ridiculous haha.

I agree the scheduling was a bit stupid though.

If we use the squad we’ve named and don’t sit out any of the experienced lads, it won’t be a bad side at all. If we do start leaving Hastings, Powell, Isa etc out then it could get messy but I’m sure they’ll give it a crack the young lads. I’m really looking forward to seeing how they go. There’s a couple in particular I’m looking forward to seeing. I’m thinking Hanley, Ben Kilner and Harry Rushton if they play. I know Rushton is leaving but he is a really good player and we may well see him back here one day.

There were a couple having a dig, hence why I said a couple. One person in particular has had a right dig and as you say a good few have agreed the scheduling is nuts.

Completely agree with the squad rotation - not convinced Hanley should have been put in. He's not ready yet in my view and it could be a big hit to his confidence if he has a really difficult game.
