Joe Greenwood boosts Wigan’s second row options as he returns from a concussion which kept him out for the last two weeks. Dan Sarginson also returns for selection.

Sam Powell is the third casualty from last week’s defeat, picking up an ankle injury which is expected to keep him out for 2-4 weeks.
Prop-forward Taulima Tautai will serve the first of his three-match ban following being charged with Grade C - contrary behaviour after appearing to kick out in a tackle during last week’s game against Huddersfield.
Wigan’s 19-man squad to face Warrington Wolves

| I think Craig Mullen would be a better option on the wing than Escare. We could also consider playing Hardaker at centre but then I thought he was probably the best of a bad bunch from fullback on Friday.
Probably Hankinson and Partington to miss out. We're really missing Liam Farrell during these tough times.

Mullen was predominantly a fullback in his academy time at Wigan and I believe that's where he played at Swinton. Escare played on the wing for France in the October/November internationals. I agree about Farrell, he's a much underrated/undervalued player.
I think we'll start with Sammutt and maybe Hankinson on the wing with Escare on the bench. Shorrocks and Partington to miss out, although Partingtons aggression (IF he can control it) could be useful!!

| Lam’s interview on Wigan TV tells us the side.
Sarginson back which pushes Hankinson out. Davies back in on one wing with Escare or Hankinson on the other.
Sammut to come in and Leuluai to 9. Tautai out giving Navarette a chance to play.
Hardaker, Davies, Gildart, Sarginson, Escare, Williams, Sammut, Flower, Leuluai, Bullock, Greenwood, Hamlin, O’Loughlin. Subs Clubb, Partington, Navarette, Shorrocks/Isa

Shame, I'd have gone along the lines of what Edinburgh Warrior suggested.
Push Gildart to the wing and let Hankinson play centre, otherwise Escare might be facing a night of bombs which he never looks too comfortable with.

He might go with Hanky on the wing and Escare on the bench. Either way, Gildart and Sarge will start at centre.

| All the hints suggest Shorrocks will cover the hooking spot from the bench so I guess we’ll see Hankinson and Partington miss out.

Seems likely. Shorrocks will remember the game he had there before his injuries when he had a blinder. Hopefully he’ll do the same again and kick on. He’s one of those lads I really find myself rooting for. I’d love him to go on and have a great career.

No I read this forum often.
My enhanced posting is down to Wigan week, not so much Wigan's poor form....but the posts about it are worth a read.

“Wigan week” haha. Wire fans seem far more excited for the game than Wigan do. I think we’ll lose... again, but would be less surprised if we won than I was when we lost to London.

You can be cool about it...no issue.
It's always a big thing for us to play Wigan. There's no shame in saying that.
In reply I'd have been shocked if you beat London. I predicted a loss. I really struggle to see where the wins are going to come.
This current Wigan squad is weaker than the Warrington and Leeds squads that finished the season in the middle 8s imo.
Beware, Wire and Leeds went through the season thinking form will turn next week!

That would be my back line. I wouldn’t trust Escaré on the wing or FB, he’s not good enough under the high ball.

I don’t buy that tbh, I’m not worried about where the wins are going to come from once things click. I may be wrong but fans and the media are too emotive and quick to react when things go well or go poorly. Didn’t Warrington start least year terribly with everyone saying you’ll end up in the Middle 8’s. Two finals later and all is forgotten.
A strong team on paper doesn’t necessarily mean a winning team, you of all should know that. The Wigan team, whilst not playing well at the minute, is littered with multiple Grand Final, Challenge Cup and World Club Challenge winners. You don’t become a bad team overnight so no need to worry just yet.

Price concentrated on defence for first the month as our spine had only just returned from England duty and had little game time together.
We were doing nothing other than 5 drives and a kick for that period.

Sorry, not sure I get your point? We have a 1 who hadn’t played for a year and a half, a 6 who’s been on England duty, a new 7 and a 9 who’s been away to PNG with the Knights. Like it did with you last year, it will take a little while for things to click.
I’ve seen enough in the Saints game and the WCC to know the quality is there. Just a case of getting it to show consistently.

You have consistently posted well before Warrington/Wigan week, I remember replying to a comment of yours after the London game. I totally understand banter of the rivalry kind but I couldn't imagine spending as much time as you obviously do offering input, commenting and antagonizing fans of another team on their own forum. I start to wonder what a uninspiring life you must lead if you have so much time to be on a forum of another team that you clearly don't support. After the Huddersfield loss I got home and when I saw this forum the top 6 threads were all last commented on by you
