What's the problem withBateman again not in the 19.

Makes sense, if someone is not 100% its a long season so why risk anyone, we have the squad to rotate.

Exactly - and when you can bring someone like Isa in as well who didn't let anyone down last season then it is not a bad position to be in. No point having a good squad and risking players with slight injuries.

When will Navarrete get a chance? Is he below Bretherton in the pecking order?

Yep, he's out at Swinton on dual reg at present.

Navarette looked extremely raw to me in pre season. He was too willing to offload the ball rather then go in to contact and his fitness looks like it needs work.

He looked everything that he is which is 'a project'.

For me Burr , and Naughton to miss out.

Leaving Burr out would leave us light in the 2nd row, unless hock is going to be played there (can't see it). Hampshire and Tickle to miss out for me

Ryan is an officially signed Leigh player. Last season, I understand he was on loan to Cas.

At the moment, he is probably suffering from a 'utility' tag. He says he wants to play half back, but his two appearances to date, have been at full back and hooker! Reynolds and Drinkwater are playing well at half back, with Ridyard yet to return. Mitch Brown has also done well at full back - he's been given the number 1 squad number. So, it looks like Ryan's best bet may be on the wing, where Higson and Dawson have been playing. Higson isn't in the squad for tomorrow, but Ryan faces more competition there from Curtis Naughton, who is on a season long loan from Hull FC. It must be very frustrating for Ryan, and it's up to him to impress, when he finally gets the chance, to nail down a 'permanent' position in the team.

It could be that our coach thinks there are enough former Wigan players in the squad tomorrow, (Hock, Higham, Hansen, Tickle, Hopkins and Acton) without selecting Ryan!

Do you think Bateman's absence has anything to do with him kicking off with George Williams up town last Sunday after the WCC and having to be pulled away from him?

Not heard that before. After his effort in the WCC I'm not surprised to see him sit out a few games, especially if he has a knock to the shoulder.

I've not heard anything about that and if there was any sort of incident, I cannot see that it was overly serious as Bateman has been tweeting his support for the team. He was nowhere to be seen after the 'incident' last year!

Don't know how serious it was. It 100% happened though. The club should put a block on him boozing. We all have or have had one mate who can't handle his pop. I see Rangi Chase has been upto his old antics too. Although on tonight's performance you wouldn't think so

He seems an unusual character does Bateman and you can only hope they keep him on the straight and narrow because he's such an important player for us.

As for Chase, Cas don't need him. He is a loose cannon that a club on the up don't need to take risks on. He's clearly not wired right when he's putting pictures of a tackle on twitter where a player gets seriously injured just to get a rise and then claims he meant no offence. The bloke knew exactly what he was doing.

Bateman looked in a bad way to me from the start of the WCC, spent at fair bit of time at 2 in from the wing. I think any rest will do him good.
