| Everyone seems to be kicking off on the Facebook page. I don't really understand why. To me Crosby has always been a solid but unspectacular prop. I would put him behind Flower, FPN, Tautai and Clubb at least. Good luck to the lad, but I can't help but think some of this anger from fans at his leaving is because he's a Wigan lad, rather than the fact that they honestly believe he is too good to sell.
My only issue is that all of these rumours seem to be coming true, meaning it's only a matter of time before we see Dwyer announced. I just don't know where he fits in. Surely he hasnt come to be back up, but Powell's performances and his voting as players player of the year suggest that Powell won't be dropped either.

| Reliable yet unspectacular. He does everything asked. I'm not too bothered he's gone, but I would have been happy had he stayed.

| Sort of player every club needs IMO,nothing spectacular just does whats asked of him,i suspect he will form a formidable partnership with Hill.
A player who in time will be marked "better than i thought he was"in my opinion

He just needs Elastoplast as his sponsor and he'll be fine.

| His best years are ahead of him, that's what annoys me. However, Wigan has deemed that it was not worth matching Wire's investment.

| Sad to see him go.
He is an excellent prop forward when he wants to be. He was easily our best prop in the Grand Final but sadly that just adds to my frustration because he doesn't play like that often enough.
If he finds some consistency he'll go on to play for England IMO and a move out of his Wigan comfort zone could help him achieve that.
Wires quest to have more Wiganers in their side then us continues.

| When all are fit I’d say he’s in reserves with Tautai, Flower, Nu’uasala (sp?), Clubb and Sutton all ahead of him, plus Lockers maybe moving to prop so he can play be spelled more. I’d have liked to have kept him but if he wants a salary beyond what a squad prop is worth then it makes sense to part ways. Unfortunately for us I can see him developing into a very good player and saving his best performances for our games!

| Distinctly average and runs too upright like Fielden in his decline, not too fussed about this. Like someone said, hes 5th/6th choice when all are fit behind:
Flower
Clubb
FPN
Tautai
Sutton
Mossop (hes still here, right?)
Plus theres Navarette and Bretherton..

| I can't recall too many occasions when Crosby has been fit and not included in the 17. So my feeling is that the move is about money. Since this is a short career, and if Wire are paying him quite a decent wedge, then I can't really blame him.
Good luck to him. I'm with the majority on here, I would be happy to keep him if he wanted to stay, just as happy to let him go if he wants to leave. He has been solid, but unspectacular with us. Maybe Tony Smith sees some potential. He hasn't had much success or luck in his recent recruits at prop mind (Bailey. Cox, Dodds, Asotasi, England -though Hill is a cracker, and for me the jury is out on Simms).

| I'm disappointed to be honest. A young prop, only 25 with his best years in front of him. Played very well once fit and will only improve with age.
Selling him to a genuine rival adds more disappoint to the transfer.

| I'm in agreement with the general mood of ambivalence. He's made 4 grand final appearances with his best years to come, wanted to stay, but has joined possibly our biggest rival instead. Having said that he would only be fifth choice prop at best. Obviously, to me, a Navarette/Bretherton combo is a cheaper option for the club and who is to say they're wrong in taking it? Good luck to him.

And yet we still have Mossop and Clubb on the books who make him look as tough as Superman.
It seems odd to let a player go who has now gained a lot of experience at only 25 when we often say we want more experience. It is disappointing for that reason alone and we have two young inexperienced players mentioned as the positive in the announcement.
It's also another player leaving so as usual, come the end of the season and the continuity of the squad and Wigan don't fit.

| Although the statement says that Crosby was keen to sign a new contract, there was no indication that his current contract had expired, and no mention of any fee if that contract hadn't expired.
I hope this isn't another case of Wigan giving their closest rivals a contracted player for nowt.

Agreed re Mossop but it's a bit unfair on Clubb, who was the victim of a crusher tackle.

I think that's the point really. He'll be one of our 4 with Hill obviously head and shoulders above the rest, a vastly improved Cooper coming back and Sims who splits opinion amongst Wire fans. We have Westwood and Harrison who can both cover prop from the bench but probably not if the above 4 are all fit. George King is the next in line. General consensus was your pack battered ours in the GF - we've released Cox, Dodds and Bailey and recruited Crosby, Cooper and Savelio - an obvious improvement. Now, if we can keep Gidley and Sandow fit and on the pitch together...it might just be our year!

It is not the point, it s all down to money and Dom has followed the Pied Piper. Good luck to him, I still think he has plenty of improvement in him. The salary cap will allways generate player movement.

| Left for 2 reasons. He asked for a silly amount of cash. Wigan DID want to renew his contract. Also he demanded to be a starting prop, something which Wigan didn't want him to be.
Not really too concerned he has gone to be honest, there are a lot better out there. He is another Mossop, a plodding prop. It's up to him though to prove me wrong.
On the subject of Williams. I have heard from a couple of people that Warrington want him on big money (£150,000 a year) but he has just signed a new contract and Wane would rather sell his daughter than sell our best player to Warrington so i think it will be tough titty. I could see Dwyer here, He can't do 80 mins and is an interchange hooker. From what i have heard this IS a deal the club want but doesn't look likely at this stage and the plan is to move Powell to back-up half back.
I am usually pretty good with inside info but watch Dave 'Nosey' Parkey copy and paste this into his next column
Oh and Mossop, not sure who is in for him but there is definate interest and he told the club he was leaving after they gave Bateman 'just' a suspension. Sam T and Flower also challenged Wane on the subject.

Flower? If this has any truth to it surely he should be that last person in the squad to make judgments.

| Well said Cherry, I wondered which poster on here Nosey got his stories from.
Thought Bateman got more than "just" a suspension - like a £10000 fine! That isn't small change.
I wonder what Mossop wanted to happen to Bateman?

They embraced after a try the first game they played together after the incident. Don't think there's any bad blood between them.
Now I have heard that Mossop has been given the cold shoulder, but it's not relating directly to the Bateman incident.
