| Did anyone see him throwing up at the start of the second half? Just wondering if he was ill or a case of nerves although any nerves usually occur at the start of the game not half way through!

| Didn't he go off in the first half? Sarginson went to FB and Tomkins into the halves.

| Hi did start the second half hence my original post, but to be throwing up surely meant he wasn't fit to play on. This isn't an excuse as I don't think we would have won regardless

| As part of my first aid course I was told that anybody who received a bang to the head and was subsequently sick should be sent to hospital. Surely the club have a duty of care to GW? Maybe the medical staff were overruled by the coaching staff as we needed to get back in the game? I thought under the new concussion rules that the doctor's decision was final and took control out of the coaches/players hands. Other clubs have been fined for not following the head injury rules this season.

He didn't look well at all, I'm with you if he was throwing up and was deemed to have been concussed earlier then he shouldn't have played on.

That would be to seek medical attention, with a doctor present at the game he would already have this.

That's something else that gets on my wick.
I've heard reports that quite a few Wigan players have been seen round town since Thursday, enjoying themselves.
The Ellery Hanley team would have been ashamed to show its face in public after throwing their season away like that.

How dare they enjoy themselves! They should be wallowing in misery and self pity! This won't do at all.

Or better yet, resisting the lures of King Street late at night and remembering that it's part of their job description to maintain very high levels of physical fitness.

| I'm not one of those people who thinks players shouldn't have down time. Quite the opposite. They have a job to do like most of us and it's important to switch off sometimes.
However, George Williams has now posted a pic of himself on Twitter saying 'blond hair and one eyebrow for me, I'll not be late for training again'.
This is more of an issue than having a night out. After the shambolic performance against Widnes they players should not be turning in late and then broadcasting the fact! Instead of stupid hair colours etc, the club should fine the players part of their wage! They'll soon learn that way!! I'd even start to fine them for giving repeated penalties away whilst I'm at it!

I quite like the system they have to be honest. They aren't on silly money like footballers yet they are putting their bodies on the line and can have a career end at any time, often with no good backup option. As such, I'd avoid fining them wherever possible. The forfeits are probably good for team bonding at least and less likely to leave resentment.
I'm glad I'm not in a position where people I've never met get to anonymously cast judgement any time I'm late for work or go on a night out! Unless they do something grossly unprofessional leave them alone to live their lives. I'll judge them based on what they do on game day, and Williams is one of our best in that regard.

I'm always baffled that people equate life as a professional sportsman with their own.
I understand the viewpoint that people have lives to lead, etc, but if you want to be the best in your sport you have to make sacrifices.
I wonder how many of the recent Olympic medal-winners spent each weekend in their build-up to the Games as if they were just like everyone else - hitting the bars and pubs?
I'm not saying that all the Wigan players do this, by the way, but I've heard several stories about certain individuals this last weekend alone. Perhaps it's been especially painful this week because only last Thursday we blew any chance of winning the LLS in the most spectacularly inept fashion and we're bound to feel a bit sore about it. Plus, I don't blame this kind of attitude for our recent demise. I think there are lots of reasons, which the club needs to unravel.
But, as a Wigan fan - a club where we've been raised on believing that we are among the best in the game - I'm always going to be aggravated when I hear these kinds of stories.

Tierneys wasn't, it was his choice. He explained it in his post natch interview in the SS bar last Thursday.
