| He's had a tough season no doubt, but I thought he was excellent on Friday, tough choice coming up for Mr Wane.

I presume he means which 3 to play out of Burgess,Manfredi and Charnley?you would imagine it's a shoot out between Manfredi and Charnley but with Burgess leaving it wouldn't suprise me if he stuck with the two that will be here next year.

Burgess definitely should be in the team he's a class above the other two imo

| Manfredi is a cracking winger and I'm looking forward to seeing him as a first choice player next season, but it's Charnley and Burgess if all 3 are fit IMO.

| No sentiment in it for me and no picking a side minus a player because he's leaving. We should pick the best two and those two without any doubt are Burgess and Manfredi at the moment. Josh Charnley is playing pretty well to be fair but he's not carrying the threat that the other two are.
It's a great position to be in.

| Once the season is over I hope the coaches have a plan to get Josh back to his best.
On his day he's the 2nd best winger in the county and Wigan need all thier stars firing.
I think it's been seen that tough love doesn't work with Josh so I really hope they've got a plan B.

I'd start it by getting him to drop some weight from his upper body in the hope that he'd find that half a yard of pace he seems to have lost. Also getting his future sorted will help so hopefully a new deal will be sorted out before next year. Addin his mate in Tomkins coming back and he'd have no excuses really.

Agreed.
Great to see him in the team again. He's doing ok but seems to have bulked up at the expense of pace.

| Burgess has been the outstanding winger in the comp. Manfredi has taken his chance superbly. Line ham and Briscoe have had good seasons but I'm surprised no one has mentioned Dom for England. Anyway I'm sure that Waney will pick the two he thinks will give Wigan the best chance of winning the GF. Josh won't let anyone down but Manfredi and Burgess have earned their spots this season with their form.

| Burgess has to play we look a totally different team with him in it, for most of the year we've looked absolutely clueless in attack we really need that long range threat that he brings

| Sarginson was in the gym Saturday and he was wearing a leg brace with his leg locked at an angle that would not allow full extension of his leg, I would hope that one of Burgess, Manfredi, Charnley is being considered for centre. Bateman is doing a great job as a fill in but offers no long range threat, Gildart seems to lightweight at the moment.

| I'd try Gildart and Charnley as the two centres against Catalans, whichever looks the best keeps the spot against Hull FC the week after

| If Gelling is back it'll be him and Bateman through to the end of the year I'd have thought. All Bateman has missing from his game as a centre is the ability to slip quick ball to his winger in tight situations. He's very good when he's got a bit of time and he's scoring try's himself without any issues. He's obviously not a speedster but he's quick enough and his strength is causing teams plenty of problems.
The best thing about Bateman playing in the centre is the fact that he's getting 80 mins every week. He's been our best player this year IMO and you want your best player on the field.

I don't think centre is Bateman's best position but playing him there is solving one of the problems we had last year when Joel came back, in that all 3 of Faz, Joel and Bateman are playing 80 mins. At the back end of last season, Bateman was very underused, only getting 30 mins or so coming off the bench.
As you say, he's doing an excellent job there and is just lacking the quick hands to get his winger away. I do think it would be easier for him if he was played on the left, as it would be more natural for him to pass that way. Plus Gelling had settled on the right and doesn't look as comfortable on the left, particularly in defence. I'm not really sure what the thinking is behind swapping them tbh.
