Every single touch was outstanding.
He's a beast and showing more maturity than ever before.
My current favourite player
Love it.

| Put him on the Warrington side and they probably win it, he was the difference between the teams, outstanding.

| Yes, terrific from Gelling. Just got back from watching down the pub, very good game, one of the best I've seen this season. Wigan looked vulnerable in defence at first, but their attack was very impressive.

| He's been our player of the season so far. Outstanding again. Stark contrast to Sarge who had a shocker in defence.

| One pass away from being a perfect performance,it was a horribly bomed try and Warrington went up the other end and scored, other than that he was awesome.

| When we singed him I thought he had a 2-1 ratio
2 mistakes - 1 world class piece of skill
Recently he has flipped that to a 1 - 2 ratio.
Tonight was around a 15 - 1.
His attitude and work rate has always been tip top
He is slowly removing the brain farts. I don't think they will ever be totally eradicated, however I would not want him to lose that free spirit personality.
Daft as a brush yes.
But equally as good as any centre in super league.
The best performance in 10 years title was possibly overstated. What can I say I'm buzzing.
However I do not think I am being disrespectful to players like Watkins when I say he is as good as any centre in the league.
No way should he be shifted into the pack.
Him, JT and manfredi are capable of reeking havoc for the next 5 years together.

| Brilliant performance, A night where everything he did just clicked and worked. only "mistake" of note was not passing to manfredi for that chance early in the 2nd half but other than that it was just a fantastic display. His best performance since coming to the club, Also think it was Joel Tomkins best performance since coming back aswell.

Yeah good point.
Gelling the previous scapegoat had a good un and it's only right we should be looking to take a pop at another player.

It's no coincidence the attack has started clicking with Hampshire at FB.

Sarge had a game to forget too.
Vast improvement in our attack tonight we looked really sharp, very dangerous indeed. Dry ground possibly?
Defensively, could have been better especially early on in each half.
If we can put together that attack together with defence we showed against Saints then we will trouble anyone. Just need to break that awful away hoo-doo now!

Agreed.
I've been a fan from day one and I back him to the hilt but the easiest bit of centre play was bombed tonight and it made hard work of the second half for us.
It doesn't take away much from his performance though which was sensational. He's one of the very best centres in superleague half the time and makes you pull your hair out the rest but he's pure entertainment.
He's turning in to a cult hero and I chuckle at some comments I hear from opposition fans when I watch him play like he's played in the past two games.

Felt sorry for him after seeing his tweet after the game. Every player has a shocker at some point. Glad it happened during a win, there was certainly no lack of effort from the lad - he must've taken the most hit-ups in the whole game.

It's a long season, and we have a lot of kids in this team... Bowen is a handy guy to have in the squad...

Just seen that tweet. He's brilliant Sarginson and if anyone deserves some slack for a showing like that it's him. He never hid and worked his rocks off but whatever he seemed to try didn't quite come off.
He'll be back soon enough.

| I invited the old fella from my local, a Bath fan, to the (another) pub to watch the game, and I was glad it was a great advert for our sport, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Great to see our attack looking so sharp and inventive, but that was certainly two pretty soft tries conceded, so just as well we were on song in attack. Gelling was indeed terrific. It didn't go for Sarge tonight, but any Superleague side should envy our centre pairing.

| think the original line is a bit ott, Gelling had a good game certainly, if he keeps going in the direction he is then maybe, yes. I'd also put a shout out for Tautai too. Much better, needs to keep working with whoever's put the horseradish up his jacksie.

I'd agree with that summary in general; though I'm not generous enough to say Gelling was 'terrific'.
He certainly had the best game I've seen him have, and his progression since he joined is evident; still Captain Daft at times though - probably always will be!
He's got great pace and size and is now utilising that to much greater effect.
I'm not sure he's got the rugby brain to make the most of those natural attributes, so he's probably always going to annoy the hell out of me to an extent.
Best performance by a Wigan 3/4 in 10years - no.
Best performance by A Gelling in a Wigan shirt -yes.

| The first try from Manfredi after the interplay between Joel and Gelling was as good a team try as I've seen from us in a long time. Really great to see us offloading the ball as it made us a threat every time we attacked. Is it a coincidence that we seemed to get more go forward from our middle when Warrington realised that we might be offloading more than usual?

How many others? Sarge, maybe, but that's it. It's good that Rocky's getting loads of support but you still can't get away from the fact that he's far from the finished article some on here would have you believe. Still, our FB slot is sorted for next season anyway.
