| Will be missed MASSIVELY when he goes. Outstanding last night as he always is in big games. I think hes hugely under rated by a lot of people in the game, we will realise just how good he has been when he goes.

| Said the same after the game. He's just so cool under pressure and makes the right decisions.
Our best 6 since Trent Barrett (well apart from Tomkins brief spell there).

So basically just better than Smith, Finch and the reserves? Just kidding he's had a very good season, particularly in the big games

| I agree that Green doesn't get the credit he deserves.nnHe's an ex Aussie Schools captain, which means he's got a decent pedigree and good skill set.
Green controls our attack and keeps us ticking over. He's just got a knack of knowing when to pass, kick or as he showed last night go on his own.
Imo, we are definitely going to be weaker next season without him. I'm confident in the future potential of Powell and Hampshire but, let's be realistic, they have a way to go to fill the boots of Green who is an established and experienced player. They will get there but i don't see it happening within 12 months.

Deacs and Leuluai played extended spells there as well if memory serves.
Not a bad list!

| He will be a big miss but Wigan just seem to be able to just put another body in and he does the business.
I thought losing lulu and finch at the same time would cripple you but smith and green been top class. Probably the best halfback pairing in super league IMO.
Who will be your 6 next year ?

| Powell will probably get the number 6 shirt but Hampshire/Sarginson will probably be given chances. George Williams as backup 9 if we let Logan go.

Williams, Hampshire and Powell will all be involved. Then again it could be Kevin Brown

Isn't wigans recruitment done for next year? Sure I read that Wane said it was.

Wigan will keep some money available if the right player comes along.
But he may "stick" He could even put Sarginson in at #6 and go with two big centres in Thornley and Gelling. I think the long term plan will be Williams at #7 and Hampshire at #6 but that maybe a few years down the line.

Despite what SW has said I do think the door is open like you say if the right player came along. I do think that an experienced half who is looking for a short term deal (1 year) and would like a shot at silverware before retirement could be a possibility.
Little fuss was made when we signed Paul Deacon but it worked out really well for us and I can see something similar happening.
