I see that two Catalan players have been charged for offences during our match last Saturday. The most interesting charge though is against Gareth Hock who is charged with making deliberate contact with a match official. If there is anything in it they will throw the book at him taking into account his previous similar offence. I doubt we shall see him at the DW in a few weeks time.

As much as Hock can be a hot head, I think his last charge for this was a joke and no more of a contact then we see time and time again from a few players.

It looks really poor, fairly sure he could've got out of the way. Reckon he'll get a 5/6 game ban.

The last time, he accidentally bumped in to the referee, whilst running back in to the defensive line on a very wet night.

Absolute bloody joke.

Looks deliberate to me, if he tripped or lost balance he would put his arms out to protect his fall but there's no attempt to do that. To me he's just had a brain fart - he steps away from play and in the direction of the ref, drops the shoulder, charges in and smashes him!



He's an absolute head case.

If that's truly the case, then I would hope that he gets 6-8 matches, given his previous (even discounting the second one, he got 5 matches for grabbing the ref the first time).

Having just watched the video Bilko put on twitter I'd like to know what happened in the next 5 seconds. Whether he stopped to apologise and helped the ref up and walked away. He looked off balance then braced for impact. His reaction after would give a better indication of whether he meant it or not.

Well there it is - a 7 match ban. Did we get some money for this clown. A great bit of business if we did - we could easily have paid to have him off our hands.

That looked a bad one and nothing like the last. As Eastbourne Warrior writes, he looked off balance an was bracing for impact but just as easily, I could see that it could be a deliberate step towards the ref and shoulder charge.

I can't think of too many sportsmen who've wasted their career quite like Hock. He's so talented yet has never been able to fulfil his potential other then showing the off flash.

I always wonder if somebody like Mike Greg could have kept him on the straight and narrow? I doubt it though as he doesn't seem to have a brain that would allow him to respect anybody to that degree.

I suppose it rankles more on here because we gave him so many chances which he threw back in the club's face.
Salford & Widnes before them were always in denial about "when" not "if" this was going to happen.

Hock is still one of my favourite players to watch. IMO, on his day, hes one of the top 2nd rowers in the world

I think Hock is the type of character that no coach could keep on the straight and narrow. He just doesnt seem to think before he reacts and after seeing him on Super League Supermen, discussing things like being kicked out of the England set up, he just doesnt understand why he has done wrong in the past.

Hock blew his final, final chance when he walked away from Parramatta and took the easy money on offer. I'm struggling to think up someone in any sport who has found so many ways to squander away god given talents. It's enough to make you weep when you compare his talent and potential with someone like JJB, a man I admire who has made a great career through dedication, attitude and selflessness.

Hock 'could' have been a great player.

My old Dad mentioned another one who could have been great from the 1940's called Billy Ritchie.

Apparently, a mate of my Dad, as was RL legend Martin Ryan. He was a mate of Ryans too. My old Dad knew RL legend Jim Sullivan from his friendship with Martin Ryan.

Anyway Ritchie said "I'll drink when I like !".

egp and/or exemplary record will give him a two match ban.

I'd be amazed if he didn't, nothing too over the top though, it helps that he got a punishment at the time as well. 2-3 games given his good record I'd say

They won't ban him for the cup semi-final.
