Absolute disgraceful scenes in there tonight. I was appalled by it all and severely put off ever sitting in there again;

1/ small group of teens laughing, talking and booing in the minutes silence.
2/ Smoke bomb let off at HT
3/ Fighting at HT in the stand and in the concourse.

The stewards seemed to do nothing about any of it and stood and watched it all unfold.

What type of message does this give out to younger fans? That it's ok to act like a hooligan? There were children and elderly sat near to it all and a young family who nearly ended up in the middle of the concourse battle. That incident alone was enough to put me off going in that stand again nevermind a young family. Chances of them coming back again? Slim to none I'd say.

Something needs to be done and it needs to be done urgently. There is no room for this in our stands. Anyone else on here sat in the south stand tonight?

Could see something was going on from all the people standing and looking but couldn't see what it was all about.

Looking from the North stand they seemed to eject one person, then a group of lads followed the stewards down.

I don't agree with letting smoke bombs or flares off out of common courtesy to your fellow spectator.

Teenagers will always be boisterous, it's just the way they are. Ban them and you may be banning potential life-long fans.

Fights are usually unpleasant to witness but there are many reasons why they happen. Could be completely unrelated to the game.

PLEASE don't let these events put you off watching Wigan.

It was like a kids disco up at the top! What a bunch of numpties all those kids are. They're not there to watch the match and would be better served hanging round bus shelters and the like.

My favourite bunch of morons is a group of lads who are about 17/18 who seem to think they're Wigans answer to the Chelsea head hunters. Pretty sure it was those gobes who were causing the trouble and they've got previous for it. Away at Saints on Good Friday they were kicking off outside the weatherspoons throwing glasses at some Saints fans. I wouldn't mind but if a group had turned on them they'd have scattered like a group of scared pigeons.

The club need to get on top of it.

There is a fine line between being boisterous and being a moran. I also doubt the club want life long fans like that.

It won't put me off watching the team I love play at the DW - I'll change stands to the East.

It would however have a detrimental affect on young families. How many have we lost as a result of these hooligans? They're not there to support Wigan. They're there for a fight and to make a nuisance of themselves.

I was stood right next to it when it all happened, it was disgraceful. It was lads who used to be part of the brigantes though. Arguing with the others trying to make an atmosphere then let a smoke bomb off and the stewards started dragging them out, and they decided to start fighting with the stewards on the steps.

The DW Stadium has cells for holding - were they used?

Would not like to think that the trouble makers were just ejected from the stadium.

They are also Wigan fans. They were also in the South stand. Does that mean all Wigan fans behave like this? Does it mean that all people in South stand behave like that? No of course not. So why make an association with the Brigantes the core of whom certainty did not behave like that. Don't make incorrect generalities that create a misleading impression. These were individuals behaving badly and the stewards dealt with it.

I was sat quite near it and found the group very intimidating, heard someone shout that they had a firework then saw aload of smoke coming from nowhere. Ended up moving me and my son further down to the left, didn't want to be anywhere near them.

its the same group of people who got kicked out at saints on good friday and had to have the police come and speak to them at Magic.

The club must have good images of these idiots and need to do something about it before Wigan get a bad name and more importantly true fans start staying away!

Would you be happy to shoulder the blame if a Wigan fan threw a bottle in a rival supporters face just because you was also wearing a Wigan shirt, I very much doubt you would.

Just because you have seen the people in question frequenting that group does not mean they are the group, from what I saw it was the tag alongs again, who tried to carry on the group when the decent folk left and caused all sorts of problems and failed to deliver any atmosphere whatsoever.

There was decent lads in that group, no one is saying they're all bad. Just the minority who decided to bring pyro and 'ultra' behaviour into it is when it all went wrong!

Everyone has numpties. On a derby day or a final they are bound to turn up in numbers.

If there was 20 of them that's still less than 0.1% of the crowd that turned up.

If you google the amount of people with criminal records that can be as high as 30% on some searches, so us RL supporters are not that bad a bunch really.

Your right My point to the poster previous was that it wasn't the people who were involved in the original group. It was people that latched onto it and ruined it .

Its funny how when anything goes wrong these days people still attach the word "Brigantes" to it and yet the group doesn't exist anymore and about 90% of people who got involed in the group either sit in another stand now like myself or simply dont go watching Wigan. Idiots will turn out for big games unfortunately... thats sport.

I have absolutely no idea what you are going on about, especially that first paragraph.

Some of the lads who were at the front of that incident on Friday were the same lads who have posed with a brigantes flag in a picture before. One in particular is one who has definitely been banned before.

Giving that group a name in the first place was the biggest mistake of all really. Started off suberb, attracted bell ends who seemed to take over it and then cause havoc
