The surprise was the appointment in the first place.

Might not sound as sinister as it does, in Tuesdays Manchester Evening News it said the following.

"Matt Parish (ex Salford coach of 3 months duration) and Sean Long are to team up again. Parish will take charge of Samoa at the World Cup and is set to appoint Long as his assistant "

But it also says later in the article that Long is possibly regretting leaving Salford after being approached by Wigan, It also says that Noble offered him a post at Salford which at the time he turned down.

Agree, and so would many Wigan fans.

Someone mentioned on the other Longy thread about his missus or ex missus or something having a pop at him on social media about having a job he hated, maybe it just wasnt what either party where expecting.

Was basically forced out as many of the first team squad weren't happy with his appoimtment and refused to work with him. Wane told him he wasn't to have any involvement with the first team squad, he wasn't happy with this so demanded talks with lenegan and rads who obviously sided with Wane. Quite unprofessional from the club if you ask me.

I saw Longy up at Orrell chatting to Deacs in the stand before the last U19s fixture up there.

Sounds like it could be a pinball end to his RL career bouncing from job to job. I’ve no idea who’s to blame but it sounds like an awful lot of dummies have been spat out, and not just by Long.

Told us what exactly??? You have absoulutely no idea why he has left the club. Theres people on here as per usual sticking the boot in with no facts.

When I first saw the bit about a disciplined club in the statement about Longs departure and it alluding to a reason why he has gone. Should have been a surprise but it is far from that in his case.

My only concern is whoever thought this was a good idea is still at the club. Strangest bit of recruitment since the Millward era.
