| good win which barring a great capitulation seals the LLS. though the forwards were great, lauaki looked good going forwards, significantly better than last year, then mossop and flower both made good meters too. oloughlin made some errors but evened out his performance with his usual effort. i thought we missed green in attack. hes been more impressive than smith in regards to creating opportunity, but powell filled in well. compared to murphy last year i dont think anyone can complain. i think yesterday highlighted a lack of pace in the , but thornley did well to recover when watkins did get outside him, but both watkins and moon had a bit too much space. charnley is really stepping up this year. in previous years the majority of his tries have been getting over the line from 5m, but hes showing hes got the speed and skills to finish.

| Wouldn't want to tempt fate just yet but 3 points clear is a strong position. We played well yesterday but at times did look lost in attack. With Smith and green yesterday we would have put a score on them.

| There was nothing in that match. Yesterday confirmed to me that Leeds are our biggest threat for the Grand Final. Not ruling out Warrington or the Giants, but Leeds on their day really do step it up a notch and their experience in high pressure RL makes them a huge threat.
Not too much in the forward battle. I thought our lads stood up okay. They will be a different beast with Peacock and Delaney. Watkins and Moon are a problem for us. I thought Charnley stood up well to the task of Hall. Also, I thought Sam Tomkins dealt with the high bombs from Sinfield very well. Overall I was happy with our defence. Thornley still has some improvement in him. A couple of lazy tackles from Lauaki and Flower in the pack - the rest were very good. Lockers is a massive player for us.
Our attack was so so, but I have to acknowledge the defence on show from Leeds. However, it was Smith's first game back and we were missing one of our smartest players in Blake Green. We need them both fit and firing for the play offs.
In summary a pleasing win. I agree with the original poster it does all but seal the LLS - not that it matters. Danny Brough summed up the value of the LLS - zero. It is all about getting in the top four for the play offs. Still, 11 wins in a row - fantastic stuff.

| I must admit, I barely noticed Sinfield all game. I did enjoy Sam Powell taking the line on, I thought he performed really well! The atmosphere after the match on the concourse was incredible

| The LLS shield isn't a must, a top 4 place is and that is nailed on.
I actually wasn't overly impressed yesterday and would hope it serves as a bit of a warning shot as to what Leeds are capable of. They were missing big players and were on the back foot for the majority of the first half yet they just keep sticking in even when playing poorly. We had them there for the taking but didn't ram home our advantage and went in to our shells.
Individuals like Charnley, Tomkins, Lauaki and McIlorum played well and the effort was excellent but in the proper games against them we'll need to be better.
It was a much needed close game though which will help us long term.

| Shows we do need to keep our experienced players.
We have a very young team and they looked nervous all through the game.
Leeds, as most teams, have greater numbers of more experienced players than us and we need to keep the ones we've got.
We know Pat is going but any talk of Prescott leaving must be forgotten.
Mossop is going and from yesterday it was obvious to me why we need Andy Powell, someone out there who can settle the younger lads down.
For a team as young as ours and yesterday having 13 out of the 17 coming through the youth system was a very good result.
Leeds despite missing two excellent players know how to hang in a game due to the wealth of experience throughout their squad.
Considering the departures end of last season and all this year's injuries the fact the lads are top of the League by 3 points is great credit to them and the coaching team.

Maybe next time McIlorum should stand in front of him and hand him a polite notice of intent to tackle?

Well, famous Wigan-hater Cummins didn't share that view, so it shows what side of the fence that bunch of idiots is sitting on.

Behave yourself.
The fact he had hold of the ball in the first place shows intent to tackle.

| thought it was a cracking game, but for saying that we were missing five first-teamers (Peacock, Delaney, Ablett, Jones-Bishop & Ward), all of whom but Ward will be back for the playoffs, gives me reason to think we'll give you a good run come playoff time.
Also for those saying the LLS is yours, while I'd say its yours to lose, we have to games in hand we should win (Wakey away, Widnes at home) and still have to play you at your place. Last game of the season could still be the decider in that one.

| Thought we didn't use Charnley nearly enough. Not sure if that was through lack of Green's left to right passsing or because Josh was torn apart at Headingley but he wanted Hall badly. Seeing the "World's best winger" put on his backside shows what a gentle, public wind-up by SW mid-week can do.
Right about Green, Smith's all-round game is excellent but Green has that special something.
Considering it was from Mickey that shoulder charge could be described as a heavy tickle. I'm sure Sky were keen to blame injury when Kev was kicking so beautifully for Josh's try.

| Micky Mac having a 4 match ban is nonsense and a wind up.
Leeds use a rushed defence out wide against us to cut off the pass to Faz, Green would have found overcoming that difficult and Sam P even more so.
Great game, the best of the weekend for quality although the game of the Hulls had the drama and controversy.
What does bother me is the difference between the refereeing of the TV games and non TV games.
All this fuss about McGuire's no try is down to refs using different procedures.
In a non TV game Silverwood would have blown up the moment McGuire went behind his team mate. They do it all the time. Yet a TV game and he lets play run on. If Sam had tackled McGuire then Leeds score on the next play Silverwood could not have used to VR for obstruction. So Leeds would have had a try awarded just because it's a TV game.
This does need clarifying.

| We may not meet Leeds in the play offs.
Should they draw Hudds then I feel it will be over for them as Hudds really do seem to know how to beat them.
Leeds do use the rushed defence out wide to force us up the middle. Thing is though when Ablett and Watkins are the centres they don't retreat the full 10 mtrs each ptb. Also with Watkins when he has the ball is hand he is very dangerous. When he's defending he aint the quickest thinker out there. He can be caught out and often is. I did think our coaching staff may have found a way around the Leeds defence but they didn't.
It will be difficult beating Leeds but they do make some unforced errors. Especially in their own half in front of the sticks. Those two pens were the difference.
Also did anyone else think Sam's pen kick went through the sticks and was a goal?
