From Phil Wilkinson of the WEP - Dudson has broken a bone in hand, don't know how long he's out for.

IL said at a meeting that SW wanted 17 props in his squad.
Now we might understand why.
So that's Prescott, Mossop, Lauaki and now Dudson.

To face Widnes we are looking at Flower, Crosby, Taylor and probably Spencer.
They may well have to go the three games over Easter too, that's if there aren't any more injuries to our props.

He looked in some pain when he came over to the fans on Friday and had his arm tucked inside his jacket. That really could be a blow too far in that front row I'm afraid and this injury situation, especially in the front row, is getting beyond a joke now.

Thank god these injuries are happening now and hopefully they'll clear up in the next few weeks. I really do fear for us over Easter though and could see us losing both game against Saints and HKR unless we get a couple of forward back or bring somebody in.

Whilst i agree it is as bad a situation as i can remember injuries wise. We still have a long list of young lads that will get some valuable SL experience.

Its far from being the ideal situation, there is a small silver lining.

It will pay real dividends over the next few years.

Big loss.

Dudson has started the season strongly but this would see to be very bad timing given our other injuries.

A big test for the coach I think because teams will fancy themselves against our weakened pack.

Tactically we may need to be that bit smarter because even with Dudson our pack had a very difficult time against a physical Leeds pack at the weekend.

Im really hoping that Mossop and Eric are going to return sooner rather than later.

Nightmare but to be fair its the first year in a while where we've had a really serious injury crisis.

We've got James Greenwood and Tom Spencer otherwise we'll have to start looking for a loan signing.

Add him to the list, we have a better pack in the stands than in the pitch! When is Lauaki due back?

Another prop down? That's four with Prescott, Mossop, Lauaki and Dudson.
Our first choice 2nd rowers are not available either in Hock and Hansen.
That's a better pack than most SL clubs can put out at anytime and they are all missing for us.

You can't say Hock is a first choice 2nd row when we've loaned him out, and Farrell is showing why he was preferred over Hock every game at the moment.

My fear is him or Lockers getting injured, then we'd really be in it.

Did anyone see the article on Hansen in the wigan evening post? It's quite worrying, his wrist is completely shattered because he decided to play on in 2006 to save us from relegation instead of having surgery.

When? The only indication of that was Farrell getting the 12 shirt but Leneghan expressly stated that this was because he knew Hock would be leaving, not because Farrell was seen as the better player

IMO it's worth giving Tom Spencer a shot. I played alongside him at St Pats and he carried the team on his own at times. It couldn't hurt to give him the chance to prove himself at this point, especially now I feel we're nearing the point where we'll have to bring our boots to the games with us in case we're too short on numbers!

Wane doesn't rate Spencer at all, his core skills are very poor. He may be able to bench press record weights but if he doesn't improve his skills he won't be in Shaun Wanes reckoning.
