Flower should be a definite starter at prop i thought him and lockers where our best players against london Flower ran the hardest ive seen him run since he first pulled on the shirt and lockers defence was brutal. Id drop Logan i wasnt too impressed with his distribution against london and i think Powell offers more versitility.

Did he miss the London game through illness. If so he should be back and one of Hughes, Burke and Tuson to miss out, presumably Tuson unless Wane rests Burke like Taylor and Powell this week.

Could be a tough task at Cas on Sunday but it's a fabulous learning curve for lads like Thornley, Hughes, Crosby, Burke and Powell. These sorts of matches are the ones that will really test their bottle and they'll be better players for the experience.

I think Gelling is out for six weeks.

Gelling is done for 6 weeks. Add in the other long term injuries and you have to hope the club is looking very hard to sign a couple of players to add some depth to the squad.

We're just about coping with the absences at the moment but we're an injury to a forward and an injury to a back away from being in a real bad shape IMO. I remember reading our old boss Michael Maguire talking about Souths starting to look at the loan Market in terms of players going out to get game time and experience if they're not in their first 17. Maybe they have a couple of lads that could give us some temporary depth like Tom Burgess for example. Surely he'd be better playing over here then not playing there?

We'll see how we go I suppose.

I'd pick Tomkins over Powell based on the fact that he needs game time and cant play anywhere else! I think we will see this often during the season Tomkins playing 2 games, then Powell playing the next 2 etc. I'd reward the best performer with the big games like Saints/Warrington/Leeds or any Semis/finals we may get to.

Id rather see the above team in a competitive game vs Castleford than see a full strength team go over there and put 40 on them ala recent years.

I was hoping to see Lloyd given plenty game time this year after he impressed last year but Burke seems to have been given the first opportunity. Due to his size perhaps?

I'd use Lauaki in the back row, it would beef up the pack and he did play most of his rugby there for Hull. If he makes a big impact it could be a master stroke. It's not we would lose too much by dropping Tuson anyway.

I think its as much the pre-season performances. Burke played very well in January, so deserved his promotion.

No Lauaki this week according to SW at the press conference. Hes about 2 weeks away and is having another scan this week.

Well it certainly was a mistake in my eyes. Should the clubs ever decide such, how easy would it be to go back? I now envisage a situation whereby whatever has been saved financially is spoken for and to go back would be difficult for a number of clubs.

Probably. The frustrating thing is we signed most of the all conquering under 16s from last season and there's a chance that a good few of them won't get to play any competitive RL for a full season at least. I would think that that's why there was no bidding war for the better of those lads.
