| Anyone know if you can download the old videos of games with real player downloader, like you can on the Hull KR one, or can you only watch online. Would definately subscribe if you can download

| I'm not sure. While we're on the topic though, aren't all Wigan games supposed to be available in full 2 weeks after they are played? I can't find Les Cats or Leeds

| Could the club not do an FAQ? Surely it would be worthwhile, or even get someone to answer out queries on here.
Seems a lot are sitting on the fence. Say if approx 1k fans are currently wavering, surely a bit of clarity from the club could potentially run us from maybes into definates- Thats 50k so surely in the clubs interest.
Anyone have a contact we can e-mail at the club?

| Just had an e-mail asking for feedback on this.
Pointed out that the advertised service (full match after 14 days) hasn't happened, and I've just checked that again before posting.
Interesting to see if there is any comeback.....disappointed so far, know it's the off season, but at the moment feel let down.
Will have to improve greatly for me to consider a renewal.

More classic games will be on Wigan TV later today including Manley in the world club cup, and the St Helens game from april this year. Last seasons games will be be available to view on the site over the next few days and weeks. We wanted to make sure we have the best quality versions of the games before we put them on.
To answer the previous question, videos will not be available to download, we have gone to great lengths to make sure you can watch Wigan TV on any device with a web browser and keep them secure.
All games next season will be on the site within 14 days, both home and away, with highlights on as soon as we can turn them around. Wigan TV has made some great programs over the last 6 weeks, including reviews of last season highs and lows, and ex-players memories of classic games. A Jason Robinson memories video is released today.
If you have any issues or questions with the site, the content or timings of highlights please get in contact by emailing tv@wiganwarriors.com. Our aim is to create a TV service that Wigan fans want to use, so your feedback in this early stage is very useful to us.

Thanks for the update.

I did ask if it would be possible to show the academy games or highlights a week or so after the games. I'm sure many speccies who can't normally attend would like that option.

This would be a great addition to the existing content. The games are already filmed at Orrell (for coaches review I expect), so I can't see why they couldn't do this without much additional expense.

| Leeds have try highlights of their academy games on their website so it would be nice if we had at least the same.
Watching the u19's might be the only pleasure we get next year.

We will definitely have all academy home games on Wigan TV, away games are harder to get hold of. But the aim is to cover as many as we can.
If you have any other questions, just post them here or email tv@wiganwarriors.com

Can I just say that I have enjoyed all the interviews and the picture quality has been excellent. I've only watched them on a pc. Has anyone tried to access Wigan tv on a smart tv as I'm thinking of buying one.
Great news about the academy games being shown.
Mods is it worth making Wigan tv a sticky, it would be a good portal for general feedback?

| No reason why we cannot put full academy game on.
To answer the smart TV question - it depends on the TV, no standard exists between the manufacturers. So, at the moment, Wigan TV is not going to work on a Smart TV. But most other devices will be fine.

You can turn any TV that has a HDMI socket into a smart TV for not much money if you pick up a raspberry pi (cost you about £45 to get one and a case to go with it) and install a media server on it (which is pretty easy to do withj many guides available via Google).
I keep meaning to have a go myself but have not got round to it.

Will the not televised matches have commentary on as Micron haven't bothered with that for years?

| We are working on a commentary solution for non broadcast games at the moment. We will keep you updated as we develop new features of the site and new program content.
Today we released a really interesting interview with Shaun Wane on his first days back from holiday. Defiantly worth a watch.

A good and relatively cheap solution for the club could be to ask radio manchester/ wish fm in as a partner and ask for their commentary after the game, to then marry up with the TV pictures?
I feel this would tick a number of boxes;
1. Both radio stations cover wigan games with full commentary anyway, so it is ready made and at no extra cost to either party, other than the cost to Wigan RL to get the commentary rights from the radio station (as opposed to putting in the clubs own commentator at significant cost)
2. By discussing with BBC Manchester/ Wish FM, I would expect the club could get the commentary of matches relatively cheaply or potentially at nil cost - if they offer some sort of advertising for BBC Manchester / Wish FM I would anticipate both parties could be easily satisfied with the trade off, particular given the commentary is already provided by the radio station and costs nothing additional to produce. Something as simple as an intro to all Wigan TV videos/ matches could surely work - Ie/ "Wigan TV - In association with Wish FM / BBC Manchester - Official Radio Partner of Wigan RLFC". The radio station would benefit with additional listeners, we get free/ cheap commentary, and both parties can obtain mutual benefit with each other.
3. The names and voices of the radio commentators are those supporters can associate with and will give the games an established professional feel - rather than having some old wiganer with two or three stock commentary phrases like the many micron videos, which panders to the northern backwater stereotype.
4. Radio commentary is very descriptive by its very nature as there is a need to help the listener visualise, and therefore often leads to very good detailed commentary which actually outstrips most normal TV commentary.
For me this would be brilliant and is certainly worth considering by the club?

Good suggestion. On Youtube Bilko has managed to tie up the SKY footage of the Wigan/Saints Good Friday 2011 match with the Wish FM commentary and it's brilliant..!!
Youtube search 'Wigan v St Helens - Good Friday 2011 (Wish FM Commentary)'
Andy Gregory shouting "GET IN...!!!" as Faz scores the last minute winner sends shivers down the spine everytime for me!
