Not convinced Catalan is an easier game myself. It can sometimes be a huge negative to play at home with zero away fans. Plus Wanes record v Saints across the levels he's coached at is exceptional.

I would fancy us against Catalan but Leeds are a strange team. Always raise their game for us and we always seem to get dragged into an arm wrestle. Im happier playing Saints than I am Leeds so no I want us to win Friday. Momentum and confidence are key this time of year as well as being healthy. We arent in too bad a shape injury wise so we need to kick on and get some fluency with ball in hand if we are to kick on to Old Trafford. Season starts now.

I think that come back against Hull KR could be the kick start we needed. Our best rugby this season was when Leuluai was playing, no coincidence we dipped when he was injured. With him at 7, give Saints a good hammering and fire into the playoffs all guns blazing, I fear none of the sides who could finish 4th, Catalans/Saints/Leeds have all been bummed hard by Wigan this season, I expect nothing less

Regardless of who we play and when, it baffles me how anybody who calls themselves a Wigan fan could even think they want Saints to beat Wigan at anything! I don't care what the implications are, we need to spank their behinds every time we play!

I hope it’s just you mate, but you never know. Whoever we get in the playoffs must be dealt with then. I will never get my head round going to a game thinking, I want us to lose this one, even if it may put us in an easier playoff tie, and if we did get that game in the playoffs and we lost! It could happen. No go out and beat them if we can then it’s sh*t or bust.

If we were in the form we were when we played them at the Etihad we wouldn't even be discussing this.

It's up to the players to re-focus and regain that form.

I hope we win but I hope we play a young, fresh team whilst doing it. Leave out: Tomkins, Finch, Pat, George, Jeff, Gaz, Micky. Bring in: Murphy, Powell, Thornley, Hughes, Crosby, Lloyd and Logan. It gains them extra experience and gives our main players a rest they need!

We need to regain our form, improve our discipline and improve communication and attitude in defence. Making wholesale changes and not trying to win a game will not help that.

However - if there are players clearly out of form or struggling with injury/fitness then they should be replaced if we have better alternatives.

That's really the only decision Wane needs to make - what's the best 13, and who will gain and be able to contribute more to the team later in the playoffs by playing (e.g. Tommy).

We'll be going all out for the win no worries. Don't think I've ever seen us lift a trophy after a loss before, how crap would that be?

Whilst I'm not a fan of playing them 3 times in a row, I wouldn't want St Helens to win if my life depended on it.

34 points against Saints gets us 1000 points scored for the season. Not essential but would be a nice achievement to go with the hubcap.

I would only ever want Wigan to lose if it were the last day of the season and promotion and relegation applied and the team we were playing was in a relegation battle with Saints and our defeat would send the scousers down.

Something else for those wanting a Saints win to consider, defeat in round 1 to Catalans could mean a trip to Perpignan in the semi final. Defeat to Saints in round 1 would mean a trip to Langtree. Personally, should the sh*t hit the fan, I know which Id prefer.
