| I was listening to the Salford v Giants match on GMR tonight.
They played over the tannoy an excerpt from a bullfight which is a very brief trumpet solo.
A bullfight is broken into parts and each part is indicated by things such as this music.
The crowd shout OLE and even in Salford they reply.
I don't want to get into an anti-bullfight thread, I just want to know the title of the brief excerpt of music they play.
It is not only Salford who play this excerpt.

| It's a French Rugby Union thing. It may have other roots but it's been done over there for as long as time. A bit like the Rhinos, most French clubs have a band in the crowd so I imagine it's not done over the tannoy like you hear on the tele. It's generally when a team is taking a line out or there's a pause in play (I know, 60 minutes of the 80 then?) and the crowd shout back in reply. They do it at Sale games and I've always found it a bit odd, so I was surprised to hear it on the Olympics the other day.

| Pretty sure they kept playing it at the Magic Weekend during most of the matches to try and generate some form of atmosphere. Funnily enough, didn't hear it in the Hull derby or us vs Saints.

| The French stole it off the Spanish and started doing it at the last RU World Cup. It comes from pasodoble music, however it isn't really a tune or a song so it doesn't have a name.

Absolutely right mate, it's from the [ipaso doble[/i music.
However the 'clip' must have a name.
I'm just looking for the name of the excerpt as a music file. I would just like the file please.

Pepe el Trompeta, if it is a made up name my very bad Spanish would suggest Pedro de la Trompeta, is more appropriate “Peter of the Trumpet” I think that's what it is? anyway, it’s more Latin than Harry Leatherbarrow which may be his real name.
