At the end of the day, I'm sure he wasn't that bothered. But it still bugs me to hear Wiganers - even a small bunch of them - dispaying the sort of childish excesses I normally associate with Wire fans.

I did cringe a bit. He's done nothing bad as a rl player that warrants calling him a w**ker.

Its very different when you boo a player in a league game. Leeds fans booed a player playing for England.

You can all boo Sam all you like when hes playing for Wigan but if hes playing for England its not on.

I dont mind a bit of booing of Foster but if it was anything more like some are saying then not so fair enough ha.

It's a bit of pantomime fun. Anything that goes past that is taking it too far, but luckily I didn't hear anything bad, although I'm sure there were some people shouting abuse somewhere, it happens at every single game you've ever attended or are ever likely to attend.

Think I'm gonna have to go for a hearing test. Only heard a bit of booing for Foster for his first few touches and not a clue what that other guy is on about on the other thread about racial abuse of Sam Moa?

It was embarrassing and totally unnecessary, I've been sat in S1 since we moved into the DW and I really wish the Brigantes would !@$£! off somewhere else !

It's unreserved seating, you can choose whether to sit near them or not.

I think his image and even social media presence has done him no good and that's why he got more attention than most other saints rejects.

On his performance - I thought he had a shocker. The lad just has no bottle. His footballer image goes well with his lack of grit IMO.

I wondered why people were booing him - he isn't a great player like Long or Martyn or Tomkins, and hasn't done anything to Wigan such as Ryan Bailey or Mathers. Seems stupid we should spend any time on him. He's just an average player with an above average ego.

A bit of booing is ok but calling him a w@nker no need for it, do we really want to go down the road of other clubs fans who don`t know anything else and everytime they are on sky they have to cut out the back ground noise????

Couldn't make it tonight but it sounds like the atmosphere had a nasty edge to it. Picking on Foster seems a bit harsh. I wouldn't say that any player deserved abuse, but it does seem less harsh in the case of a Long or Martyn. Poor Foster has enough problems, it's just kicking a dog when it's down.

Certainly came over as much more than booing on the TV. Sounded pretty hostile wherever the microphones are placed to be honest

Who do you think is behind all of it? It was obviously the 'brigantes' or 'wigan ultras' who started it off calling him a w****r.
Seriously they're a complete embarrassment to our club. Last year I thought they were really good especially at away games, this year they've really gone in the wrong direction.

Going slightly OT and without turning this on the Brigantes, what's with some of the new songs/chants? Putting it bluntly, they're terrible. Particularly the "boys in red" and the "up up n away" ones. The atmosphere was starting to pick up a bit but it's gone flat again and IMO it's because 95% of the crowd don't know the songs that are being started.

They need to go back to what they did last year. Tonight when they started singing 'Just Cant Get Enough' the south stand all joined in. I think tonight was one of many few times that I've seen the whole of the south stand actually all joining in when they started just cant get enough. But you're correct, them songs are awful and they need to stop thinking they're Celtic because they're far from it.

Felt sorry for him really, Saints give him a hard time and then he got some stick last night of some of ours. Didn't think there was any real malice in it and probably just with him being a Saints player really. I thought he brought a lot of this sort of treatment on himself when he got a bit ahead of himself with remarks on twitter and the like. Whatever treatment he got off some of our fans is nothing compared to what Sam has to put up with everywhere he goes though.

Honestly thought they had jacked it in ! I only see Wigan home games on tv , but the atmosphere seems pretty dull in fairness , although its hard to tell if you are not there in person . The only noise was coming from the Codheads in the last ten mins last night .

Did the Brigantes/Ultras bother going to the Semi-final ? The only noise that day was from Leeds , with prolonged if rather annoying chanting which is a relatively new thing for them .
