What did Sean Long ever do against the Ozzies? Nothing, so he's not a great...

Sadly that says more about the GB side, and general level of competence in this country than anything else.

Sean Long was a very very good RL player. If you cannot see that, then you need to take a good look at yourself.

However, the emphasis there is on "was".

After reading his book I'm delighted for him. Clearly loves the sport.

How often did he get picked? He took the Ozzies apart in his last game against them, only to get shipped out by Noble a week later. Hard to be effective when the coach don't like you.

Plus several other naughty things he did, but nobody can deny that he was a cracking player.

He won't be remembered for that by me but for the game at the SFS where he won MOM. Also got elbowed by Willie Mason and played the 2nd half with a bandage around his head.
The following day local Aussies were mad as hell about Mason after what he did to Long and Fielden and thought Longy a hero for carrying on and playing as he did.
We know it all went pear shaped the next week but his was a great game in the last match in which we beat the Aussies.
