Tommy won Try of the Month for his try against Leeds after Sam skipped through half the Leeds defence. Shown on Boots 'n' All last night.

He was presented with the award by Paul Sculthorpe and when asked about his injury, he said his recovery was a week ahead of schedule: he would be walking on it next week, have the boot/cast off the following week and would then be able to start running. They certainly seemed to think he'd be back for the CC final if Wigan get to Wembley.

It would be great if he could have a run out on 17th Aug against Salford.....

Fingers crossed. It's no good rushing him back though. We seem to have a worrying number of players who suffer set back during rehab when they are coming back from injury, it's happened a couple of times to Fielden and apparently has happened to Pat now.

The guys been awesome especially in the last few years and deserves to play out the remaining games of his Wigan career, not sit and watch them from the stands.

Getting a fully fit Tommy back in the side is huge for our chances of silverware this year, as previously said it's better to give him time than rush him back for big games but I have total faith in our staff.

We want to make sure he's fit for the play offs, so if he needs the extra time I'd give it to him regardless of the CC.

Strap him up and give him plenty pain killers. He wouldn't need to play again for a few weeks as we'd play Matty Smith.

This may be a bit controversial, but I think we are only starting to truly appreciate him properly now that he is injured.
Whilst its sad to see him injured, I think that this break helps us see what we are going to miss next year, so that the send off he gets (hopefully at OT) will truly reflect our appreciation.
There have been players who have played for us in the past, who have left with reputation slightly in excess of what they achieved on the field. Tommy has certainly never been one to have been overestimated, but now I think we are starting to appreciate more what he adds to the team.

Yes I agree with that too. I have gone from feeling that Wigan couldn't be beat to not being anywhere near as confident now that he isn't playing.

Agree fully, but have been a big fan of his for years. Always felt he was harshly judged in the early days - he was barely out of his teens & playing with a world-class player in Trent Barrett, but used to get a knocking from some on here. He's got better & better, and apart from his sometimes average kicking game, he's been world-class himself for the last few seasons. Back in the bad old days of 2006-8 he was one of a very small number who used to put 100% in every game too...

He'll be a massive loss & I just hope that we get to see him playing again this year, and get to give him a decent send-off - preferably after a winning GF.

He won't be playing with a broken leg will he smart . If a player comes back from a broken arm......they strap it. If they come back from a broken ankle..........they strap it.

Leuluai is quality, but there's no-one with any experience behind him. We've really felt that the last few games.

Been having this discussion with Captain 13 for ever . I think it has only been since Wee Tam's injury that i am finally getting the message through .

Going to take 2 to replace his attacking skills and more so his defensive orginisation and big hits .

I think i was talking to you about Tam about 4 or 5 years ago at The Stoop, you were a huge fan of his then, and singing his praises when he was still getting a little flak from people.

If you are the gentleman from Blackpool who had a good laugh when I Called Tommy , Wee Tam in our conversation , yes it was me remember the conversation well . We are back down again next week , great day out can't wait .

For every other team in Super League the scrum-half offers a target in the defensive line at which the opposition aims it attack. Leluai however hit as hard as any defender in the league - Matty Smith doesn't and that next year will be the biggest difference to Wigan. That isn't much to choose between the two players in attack.

I would say that Tommy has slightly more spark in attack as well which is what I think we missed against Bradford.
