Bless his loyalty but surely most of them lot can see all this has come at the cost of a new stadium?
Should they even be struggling against sides like Widnes and Hull KR anyway?
Signings like Shenton, Manu and Turner is what they have been forced into, and let's be honest Laffranchi and Lance is pants are world beaters are they.
Their future coach is doing a class job in destruction over at Hudds who have a better squad than Saints, with a bit of luck he'll make Saints worse
The best thing for that club is to stay away from any finals and build a better squad for the future and stay away from the likes of Shenton, Manu, Turner etc

| A win is a win, as they say.
But if I was a Saints fan, the thing that would be concerning me is the next coach. At present, Rush and Cunningham look a much safer bet than Brown.

You're right we did but since then we have maintained top spot in the league booked ourselves a semi final spot and disposed of higher placed teams quite easily including Saints, not to mention it was a severely weakened side that went to Widnes as was the one that went to Leeds the other week and trounced them, the team that went to Wakefield today was nowhere near our strongest.
My point is as fans maybe you need to look at the bigger picture and it's not the fact that it's a case of 'never write the saints off' maybe it's a case off 'were not as good as we used to be', and we shouldnt be letting teams like Widnes come within a point of us or lose a 26 point lead over Hull KR and narrowly snatch the game, I'm sure theres been a few other games this year where you've struggled similarly and won, and maybe even lost too!

| being delighted with beating widnes is probably where saints are as a team at the moment. As a wigan fan that`s not good enough for me. Papering over the cracks would also describe the thread

| To be fair, other than the two league games they've lost to us they haven't been that poor. Obviously still 8 games to go but they are grinding out the wins week after week. Under Rush, they've still only lost to Wigan.
Their next three games are: Catalans away, Wire & Hudds home, two of which look tricky on paper.
Let's see where they are after that.

| Saints have done really well to rescue what looked a doomed season to be fair. They've looked way off against Wigan but there's time for that to change so we shouldn't write them off.
I'd be suprised if they made another GF but you never know. They'd obviously lose it if they did but it would be an achievement in itself just to get there.

I know we arent as good as previous years thats a no brainer really is it??? Saints have played well at times this year, been below par in others and been utterly beaten up when we played Wigan at MM and Langtree Park. We are building again and by 2014 with a few good signings we will be a real force to be reckonend with again.

He's off contract at the end of 2013.
I'd take him at Wigan next year but only as a back up at centre or halfback as we'd need a more experienced half at the side of Matty Smith.
