Tom Spencer to miss out with Goulding rested.

I wouldn't want to see Thornley and Murphy on the same side of defence there. Goulding to play for me, not an ideal situation but its probably necessary.

Micky Mac's early plea of guilty to avoid suspension now seems to be a waste as he's missing the Wakefield match anyway! He's now lost the right to make this early plea for the next 12 months.

Wonder if he can be cheeky and retrospectively withdraw his early plea as he'd only get a one match ban!

If Goulding's fit I think Spencer and Thornley will miss out. I'd start Faz in the SR alongside Hock and bring Hansen on off the bench.

You might be right but I would have every confidence in Thornley/Murphy.

Daz Goulding cannot be risked for me. The amount of strapping he's had on that leg has been ridiculous.

I think I'd like to see the 1,6,7 and 13 combination that will be starting against Leeds in the semi to start the Wakey game to get abit of fluency in the play. I'd like to see 1.Murphy 6.Tomkins 7.Finch and 13.O'loughlin. Therefore just for the Wakey game especially whilst Micky's being rested I'd have Matty Smith at 9.

I see Leeds are getting an extra 2 days rest before the semi.

I have a feeling they may need it.

As an aside I think that the suggestion by DP_WWRLFC is a good one for the Wakefield game.

I know Smith wont be able to play against Leeds,but he would give us an option to rotate Sam and Finch as well as giving Logan a rest during the match against Wakefield knowing himself that he (Smith) would have a weeks rest after.

The more I think about this the more I think it is the way we should go. Smith will be having his 1st and only training session with Wigan tomorrow, he probably won't be completely up to speed, plus he can't play next week. Spell him with Logan (never an 80min hooker yet) and give a Murphy, Sam, Finch, Lockers combination game time ready for next week.

Surprised Hughes as been omitted, has he picked up a knock. Didn't do too much wrong when switched to centre last week and has been playing well as a SR. He at least provides cover if Goulding or Carmont need to come off.

I thought MM's was a grade A offence with a maximum of a 1 game ban which became no ban if an early plea was made - ie he couldn't have missed the semi-final even if he had been found guilty. Hence he has now wasted his early plea possibility for the next 12 months and is still missing one game (admittedly now through injury rather than a ban).
