Looked a proper break that. Granted I was watching through my fingers as I don't like watching slow-mo's of injuries but it looked like a bad one to me. Hope he's ok.

I'd be devastated for Tommy if it's a bad one, fingers crossed it looked worse than it is for his sake and the club's.

Absolutely gutted for him. that looked like a nasty one, Looked like a break but I hope to god it isn't. A key player for us and our season could be really affected if we lose Tommy now. All for a game that no one cares about. lets just hope no one else gets injured.

Means we'll have to prepare for next season earlier. Wonder what the odds on sending a bit of money Salford's way to get Smith in early are? Could we even demand compensation from the RFL for a serious injury to a key player in a pointless match that they concocted?

Based on tonight's match, it's closer to a match against France than it is a match against Aus or the Kiwis so of no real benefit.

we could always chuck some money at Cas and bring Chase in, similar to the gleeson mid-season signing. We should have salary cap space and he can take Amos Roberts salary for this year with an increase for next year.

I hope Tommy's not badly hurt, cracking player and a big loss to Super League, but I can't understand how him leading with his knees in the tackle where he hurt himself didn't result in an England penalty.

Didn't west ham do that when there striker, his name escapes me, got injured on England duty. Pretty sure they got a pay out

France will never be better than they are today or at least not for a long time.

The exiles on the other hand could be better today if a coach picked the right squad or we didn't have injuries.

Add Hodgson, Monaghan, Richards and Hansen and its better than the England squad.

It's a move seen increasingly in recent years, Brent Webb & Sam Tomkins have put body blocks in.

Given what's happened to Tommy I think Wigan and the other top clubs will do their best to persuade their best players to turn down a call up from the Exiles. This will kill the Exiles concept.

The fact that the best 17 exports in SL would beat this England side (with McBanana in charge at least) is irrelevant to that.

I think Chase is on a bit more than Amos Roberts (200k). It's the reason I don't think Wigan will sign him, they won't be daft enough to pay him what Cas do.

apparently its ankle ligaments with a scan to follow tomorrow. Hopefully its something like 6 weeks and fortunately, bar the semi final, we have quite a favourable run of games over the next few weeks with Widnes, Bradford, Wakey.
