I was too young to remember our glory days being born in 86, so all my memories from years gone by are MOSTLY of us being second fiddle to the arch enemy.

You've just made that up! we've had a about an even win/loss record with you in SL, even when you were really pap !

In SL we may have been second fiddle in way of honours, but we always competed well in Derbies. There were a few spankings down the line, but we did seem to show up well against saints. And as the previous poster mentions, have the better Win/Loss record in the derby in SL.

Second fiddle in terms of honours, facing up against Champion teams year after year, although we may of still competed on derby games, deep down I always knew they were better than us.

That feeling has gone, the role has now reversed.

I agree with the OP. I had always gone to KR expecting to get hammered and just praying that we somehow would win. But now, I expect us to win, and today, I knew that only a mere miracle would prevent us from beating them again.

I've been going to Wigan games since I was 10 or so, so for about 14 years, and I think the win-loss ratio is pretty even to be honest.

take a look at Bilko's site and you will see we have the better record against the old enemy in the SL era, we seem to raise our game when facing them but didnt keep it at that level against other teams.....hence they filled the trophy cabinet and we went 8 long years on poor rations.......lol

Yes, the stats say we're about even, but they were by far the superior side, and the feeling I have had in SL was one of well if we win it's a bonus. Not saying that we couldn't nor didn't, just the fact that we were underdogs.
(I am old enough to remember pre SL but everyone knows that RL before SL doesn't count apparently)

Saints are very good at plan A...forwards dominate, roby scoots, backs link in...... but when plan A is stopped they revert to....................................................................................................................................plan A........

Yes, the loss of Graham has made a big difference to Saints. It shows how important a marquee signing is. I hpe we sign one great half-back to replace Tommy and Roberts next season. Someone who will take the game by the scruff of the neck like Graham.

Normal service has been resumed. Things have been out of balance for a brief period, but now the natural order has been restored and all is well with the world again. I expect no change in conditions for the foreseeable future. The outlook is sunny and bright.

i agree with the OP, i always felt the same until the recent 2 years or so... iirc it was my 7th Saints game that i finally saw us beat them live (last game of 2007) the Vaeliki try match..
