I wouldnt be surprised if he has played his last game for us. Even when he is fit it will be a long time before he is match ready and with his injury record over the last 2 years I cant see him getting a new contract .

Sadly his time at Wigan looks to be up. He may manage another few games if he is back in August but not enough to get a new deal.

Time to line up a replacement.

would release him now and sort out a replacement soon as, he's put his body on the line for the game for a long time and it's finally caught up with him

Anybody know what knee op he had in the first place? I had microfractures about 6 years ago and had around 11-12 follow up operations to fix a continual issue with scar tissue in the knee. I eventually had something called MACI to resolve the issue, but MACI is a long term repair where microfracutre is often used as a quick fix for sportsmen to get them back on the field before there age catches up on them.

The club should know if he'll be fit to play another season. We keep hearing he's three weeks away, or he's finished.
We should just be told the truth now. If he won't recover, let him go. He's done well, had a truly great career at Bradford, and helped in our revival.
Nothing worse than seeing a once-great player being embarrassed because they didn't stop playing when they should have.

How old is he ? Could a long lay off possibly prolong his career?

Pretty sad really..a great signing back in the day but hasn't really paid his wages with Wigan..I wish he could have reproduced his Bradford form with us...

I wouldnt write him off just yet. I could of sworn Peacock was finished when last got injured. He eventually came back and hes playing well again.

They are both similar ages, anything can happen. Props can often play to mid 30's. A fully fit Stuart Fielden would strengthen any team.

By August, he will have played 1 game in about 2 years - who in their right mind would give him a contract? Wigan certainly won't.

Only 32/33, if he can get back to full fitness for next season i'd still have him for next season, age for props isn't much imo, I prefer them at late 20's/early 30s

If true I wouldn't be giving him a new contract. Him and Roberts to leave along with Carmont and Leuluai.

I'd then chuck a large salary and a five year contract in Larne Patrick's direction.

Scott Dureau is my answer. Young player with his best years still ahead.

With Mossop, Prescott, Lauaki, Flower, Lima, Dudson, Spencer, Crosby, Burke and at a stretch Hock I'm not sure we need to be throwing big money at a prop. First priority should be to strengthen where we are weak, in the centres and halves/hooker.

Release him from his contract but pay him off on the side, spend some cash on Larne Patrick and Tom Burgess and get Scott Dureau for next season. Maybe a cheeky bid fo Kallum Watkins while were at it and we'd be sorted for the next 5 to 8 years.

Larne Patrick is a must though, him Prescott, Mossop and Lima would be frightening with Hock, Hansen and Lockers in the back row and Micky Mac smashing them.

Although we've somehow carried Roberts for 2 years from Easter Monday 2010.

If he finished now and was honest with himself he could move upstairs and take a coaching/conditioner route with us and it would free 100k minimum up. I like the bloke and I know he is a proud fella who would like to think he still has something to offer but you have to be realistic. We have an abundance of front rowers at the moment and I don't think its worth waiting 4 months for him where he still might not be right or on form to get into the first team. Similar situation to O' Carroll last year. Unfortunate but that's professional sport I'm afraid
