Just seen on Twitter than Ian Millward's son, Robbie, has passed away at the age of 19.

Just want to send my deepest condolences to the Millward family, at this saddest of times.

He was in my nieces year at school, no age to die. Condolences to the Millward family at this horrible time

Just found out about it. Terribly sad.

Met Ian Millward a few months ago at the final Salford match and despite any misgivings I may have had on him as a coach, I found him a pretty nice guy to talk too. Can't imagine his loss. RIP.

Millward never worked at Wigan clearly but I always have the upmost respect for him for the time he came in the South Bar after we had lost to Warrington to face dogs abuse. Not many other coaches would of done that. Deepest condolences.

Met him at a Sportsman's Dinner a few month's after he left Wigan and despite my reservations he actually came across as a decent guy and was a good laugh.

Was lost for words when I saw this and it puts all the petty bickering between rival fans into perspective. Sounds like it was something sudden and his dad only found out on the way back from France after the match yesterday. Dreadful news and I have nothing but sympathy for all concerned.

Tragic News

RIP young man.

Basil has been placed on leave, on compassionate grounds by the Castleford club. Since we play them on Sunday I hope we can show the Millward family a lot of love and respect. Hopefully a minutes silence will be observed out of respect for Ian's loss.

Well as a parent of 14 & 17 year old sons I don't know how you deal with that at all. So much to look forward to at that age.

It's difficult to know what to say. It's a tragedy for the family and friends. I just hope we can have a minutes silence impeccably observed on Sunday as a show of the RLs families support to the Millward family.

We are Rugby League fans so the minuites silence on Sunday will be impeccable without saying. My first memories of his son was Millwards first ever game for us which was at Salford when he walked accros the pitch with him.

A horrible age to die, must have come as a shock to the family, puts life into perspective that's for sure.

No parent should ever have to bury their child whatever the child's age. I have two young kids and it breaks my heart even trying imagine what they are going through. Tragic.
