I suspect Salford have quite a lot more to worry about than Sam Tomkins complaining to the ref.

I agree, Tomkins does moan at the ref quite a lot, he is quite the loud mouth especially now he has established himself.

You miss the point though. Other fans pick out Tomkins first. They look at him for anything they can moan about through their jealousy. Brett Finch is worse for moaning to the ref and yet nobody has ever complained. People want to find a fault with Tomkins. It will happen all season. Just look at the 30page thread on the VT after the 4nations final, Tomkins can no longer catch a ball, he is rubbish, yet tonight he delt with numerous kicks from Salford.

Tomkins gets under super leagues skin, and I love it.

Can you imagine the stick the lad is going to get when he goes to RU and then all the people who have boo'd and slated him on places like this will be wondering why. Look at the best players of this game and they all have something to ay to the ref during a game Wally Lewis, Daren Lockyer, they play to win. If Sam was a dirty player I would probably not have the same view but the refs had a directive last year I think over this so it's the refs fault if it gets out of hand. I love watching Sam play and I'm a Leyther. Pity he won't be gracing the LSV on friday night.

Sad and bitter spring to mind

Sick of getting in to debates about the lad so all the opposition fans can have it......he's a niggly, cheating, dirty git who constantly moans at the ref and try's to milk penalties.

He's still going to rip you apart though so deal with it.

Niggly - Yes
Cheating - Far, far less last year, hopefully less this
Dirty Git - Not really, a few silly incidents but nothing major
Constantly moans at the ref - who really cares? if he is doing that it's probably because something has gone against his team so happy days !

World class player - Absolutely.

Don't know why people would get so wound up by what other teams fans would think of him.

The only thing that annoyed me about him was his arm trapping and rolling that would get penalties and was cheating. (i'm not saying other players don't cheat btw, but he did)

Now that has diminished i can enjoy his abilities without getting angry with him, which to be honest is great. He appears to have grown up a lot based on last years showing.

Still think Richie Myler is a better half back based in last year...

He gets all those things thrown at him though and in the main it's tripe but I can't be bothered with the endless debates anymore.

He's brilliant end of story.

So does Briers, Longy, Graham, Wellens etc etc as much by Wigan fans as any.

They are all in the same mould and at their peak superb players who would get in any team, (maybe not so much wellens)

For the record Graham, wellens and Longy never really bothered me, however i reckon Moz would have would me up if i was an opposition fan.

He's no worse than Briers, Moz, McGuire, Sinfield, Graham, Wellens, Wilkin etc.

I'm not saying it makes it ok for Tomkins to do it. I'm just saying he isn't the first person to do it. I mean, most of the guys I mentioned were playing when Sam was still in school, they were doing it long before him.
