I know this is in jest but I thought our young lads held out well against mostly seasoned professionals from a top 5 club, quite impressed.

From minutes 20 to 50 from what I could see we were almost all U20's against a very strong Hudds Team. Did well to hold them out and to be honest it was only Brough's conversions (100%) and a late try that was the difference in the scoreline.
Hudds had long spells of possession and territory though.

Based on tonight FIOS they'll struggle to get into the 8 let alone top 5 they'll need to up their game far more for top 5 and worryingly for Huddersfield they took it alot more seriously than us.

That had 9 regulars missing.

I agree they didnt look like the Huddersfield of the last couple of years, just went off on placements based on last year. Im quite surprised really because they usually hit the ground running then phase out as the season gets on, I guess time will tell. Im confident about the opener though.

They still had McGilvary, Cudjoe, Gilmour, George, Grix, Brough, Mason, Robinson, Ferguson, Chan, Lee, Crabtree and Lunt.

With those players you'd expect them to have piled on some points against what was mainly an under 20's side.

The size difference in the forwards and a poor kicking game from Wigan meant they had a lot of possession but didn't go anything with it. That will be a bit of a worry for them.

It was a FAR stronger team than Wigan's tonight.

dunt make any difference come the first game the Warriors and the Giants will be a lot stronger, like i said the Giants had 9 players missing you can only play whats in front of you.

Yes you can only play whats in front of you BOYD2 but for what was in front of Huddersfield they played it quite poorly that score should have read 50 odd next to Huddersfields name.

Looking at the Huddersfield side tonight I can't see who the 9 are theres a starting 12 only one from a starting line-up highlighted in that Huddersfield side and a match day squad is 17 not 21.

Hudds had control for a good portion of that game, other than the first twenty when I thought Wigan were the better team (no co-incidence it was when Leuluai, Hock and Lockers were playing before they went off on 20 minutes). The young lads did well on a number of occasions keeping Hudds out, our touchline defence was pretty good at times, but then again I'm not sure they were running at full tilt either.

End of the day, no injuries and a good hit up for the fringe first teamers (Gelling, Dudson, Tuson, Mellor...etc).

Well lets just wait and see its all ifs and buts, we have won at your place for the last few years so there is no reason why that will change.

It was a typical friendly really. No matter how strong the Hudds side was it just didn't seem to have the same passion as a league game would. It will be totally different in a few weeks.

Our U20's looked ok, but I'd rather have had the choice to watch them - ie Leigh next week - then have it forced on me after buying my ticket.

It's a bit like when people list how many youngsters we've let go and neglect to include the fact that none have gone on to better things and that none would get in our team now.

NSW them are the 9,and Rogues i dont know Browny picks the team but theres some quallity guys that dint play tonight.
