| I was browsing through a knock down bookshop in Rochdale this afternoon where I espied Sean Longs book LONGY for £2.99 .
Blimey I thought, that's cheap.
I was minded to buy a copy, but the thought occured why is it so cheap ?
Is it rubbish ?

| it is truly awful, i read a lot of sports autobiographies and this is the worst i have read, he comes across just as you would expect him to which is not good.... just glad i got it for free

| I bought it for that in the Works in Wigan town centre.
It's funny in parts but there isn't too much to it other then stories of him being bladdered.
Depends what you want from a sportsmans autobiography really but it's worth 3 quid imo.

| as with all autobiographies, some, if not all of the writers personality comes across in the book.
In Longy's case, this is evident, and therefore its CRAP.

| I bought it a few week back and still haven't got around to reading it yet but a few mates who've read it have been pretty positive about it

| I have just read it. I thought it was quite good, quite amusing. Most of his stories are about him being drunk and some controversial moments and not your usual sports biography.

| Read it on holiday last month. Not that impressed apart from a few of the Rugby League related parts . If you are going to read it dont read the foreword by Jonny Vegas , you will throw it in the bin before the first chapter , he really is full of wind and P*sh.
If Rugby League players really drink as well as they talk and write about drink (Longy should have died through drink before chapter 2) cant believe how some of them reached past 20 years old .
Also read Terry Newtons book on holiday and enjoyed that and it is amazing how similar some of the Rugby related parts of both books are written .
Fleabag i am gutted at your comments . I payed £3.99 for my copy .

| I read it as its writer intended: in the pub with a couple of pints, and laughed my head off. Now and again I was also totally appalled, of course. Well worth the £3 I paid for it two years ago

| Most RL biographies are pretty boring and, given the insular nature of the game, are full of wind and don't really tell you a lot. Longy certainly can't be accused of that.

| I've watched Jonny Vegas doing stand up and I hardly raise a giggle. I've watched him on shooting stars and again nothing and then I read his foreword in Longy's book and it's pure drivel that i'd be embarrassed to include.
He's pretty good in Ideal and Benidorm though so maybe he should stick to that.
