Looking at the new kits it seems they have missed an opportunity to show off the newly rebranded broncos by producing an extremely poor excuse for a shirt. Even with a sponsor on the front it would look dull and boring. It just seems such a shame as they could have stamped a new RL identity onto the shirt after ditching a RU brand.

I expected this to be them not having 2012 olympics advertised on it.
Agreed though boring shirt but it's all had to be done quick and to a price.

I travelled back from an away game with the chairman and CEO last season and was wearing the recent away top that had the 4 traditional Bronco quarters(Blue, red etc)
They were discussing the change of name, on the road games for this year and even both said that the 4 quartered Bronco top was their favourite top, so it is a surprise they haven't gone back to it
That said the CEO is Ex Int cricket player and Surrey cricket CEO and has gone to a cricket kit maker for the tops next year at shortish notice(MKK). They havent previously been involved with rugby. Maybe they are using similar designs to current cricket merchandise they provide a bit like Puma did at Quins(similar pattern to Spurs football tops)
The Chairmans Reg plate is L13 RFC so going back to the broncos was no surprise!!!
Ps the home kit is black teh away kit sky blue!

The quality/look of the first shirts aside, I think that the colour scheme is quite a good idea because I can't think of any other sports club that wears black with sky blue trim, so if they're about creating their identity, it could be a good ploy.
That said, the old-skool red with navy and yellow trim was equally distinctive because of the way it was used as a combination - I just get the impression that they potentially wanted a neutral sporting colour so that the more tribal sports fans down there that they may be trying to entice (i.e. football fans) didn't take a look at the red and think 'I don't want to follow them, they look like Arsenal', or similar.

I like those kits, they just look totally blank because of the lack of sponsor. Saying that, I just generally prefer plainer kits anyway.
If they can't get a sponsor, they genuinely should just get in touch with the Olympic committee and say if we put your logo on our shirts can we get some joint advertising together.
They were plugging Broncos heavily at the double header at Wembley, hopefully they keep it up.

I won't say anything derogatory about the IOC they are all seeing and powerful and other less than positive names i dare not say, but lets just say, snowball in hells chance of having the Lisa Simpson sucking off the grim reaper logo and even less of the 5 rings. |
