| I wonder what the attendance will be next week. I think if wigan and warrington had made it to o/t it would have been a massive attendance. Remembering last years gf we out numbered the saint's fan's and at wembley we also out numbered the leed's fan's. Let's see.

| They'll both believe they can win this one though.
Both will take bigger crowds then they did to their last final.

| To be honest I thought there would have been a bigger attendance last night, semi final between 2 big rivals, and there was just over 9000 there, I really expected a full house at Stobart.

| with them both thinking theyll win it then yeah the crowd should be 60k plus.
Its a real shame the attendance at the stobart last night and the attendances throughout the playoffs... semi final/biggest derby in the sport and theres 9.420 at it, is our sport slowly dying or is it the fact people dont really have the cash?

A bit of both I think. Saints fans boycotting Widnes doesn't help either.

Low attendence last night possible causes
1 The glitz has gone out of playing Saints this was the 6th time we've played them this year.
2 Overpriced at £20 a ticket
3 The playoffs as it stands with 8 teams in the format wrong go back to the top 5.
4 Recession on at the minute lots of people finding it hard to warrant the expense of forking out for the extra matches.
5 On SKY why pay to watch a match thats telivised (I went by the way)

Yes I agree with all your points, especially the play off one, definitely should be just top 4 or 5.

if it were only top 2 the season would be far more competitive imo, specialy if they bring back promotion relegation, the franchise system is killing the game imo, franchising may work down under but it don't cut it here

| and roll in the fact that Superleague has been poor in 2011, ive regularly gone to games home and away since the 2005 season and loved every season but this season (superleague not challenge cup) has been a mediocre slog with the notable exception of the good friday match! (i wasnt at the 22-22 leeds away)
Maybe this is similar to how some other people are feeling and have decided to give the back end of the season a miss...

| I have supported RL and wigan for 70 years and those empty seats last night were a huge shock to me. If you cannot fill theStobart stadium for a Saints v Wigan semi final we are in real trouble and I think it proves that the appetite for what is a great sport has all but disappeared. I cannot say why it has happened, but the evidence was there for all to see

But we got 19,000 on against Crusaders because we had chance of winning the LLS? People just can't get into the playoffs deciding the champions i think.

personally i think low attendance in the play offs is due to the fact that most clubs junior tickets are like £25+ for the regular season and that covers home and i believe away regular season game. Then when they get to play offs tickets go to like £12 for a junior or something around that which is a big jump in prince considering how much season tickets are.

| I'd imagine the Leeds fans will turn out will be much better after the recent form they have shown. I'd like to think it will be a near sellout. Although I'd usually go as a neutral financial restraints mean I wont be this year, and I wonder if it will be the same for many more neutrals. A lot of Saints fans seem to have boycotted going to Widnes and their attendances have shown that, so hopefully they'll have those fans turning up to the final as well.
