betfred took over totesport in july (so ive just heard)

we had "betfred" on our shirts at wembley instead of totesport (not that i noticed)
so..
1. will betfred sponsor us next season , instead of totesport
2. will there be a betfred bookies on the ground next season, or indeed any bookies?

reason im asking is that Betfred have pulled the plug on Leeds rhinos...and im wondering what the situation is here.

I thought they just took over the licence to the Tote placepots?

Betfred took over the betting shop near me like 2 months ago when i asked the guy behind the counter he said they had bought them out

They must be tight cause all the shop is now betfred but they have tote shirts still

Fred owns the lot. The shops are slowly being converted to betfred and the call centre staff are now betfred employee's.

We are all in the process of receiving our "new" Betfred shirts....They completed the buyout on July 13th....

It hasn't been confirmed yet whether they will or won't sponsor us but with the head office based in Warrington, a lot of things seem to be geared around Wire rather than anyone else (it was Totesport who used to provide the betting at Leeds for example) They also pulled put of sponsoring Hull City FC which was previosuly Totesport.

The betting slips on the ground now say 'BETFRED' on them, but whether this will continue next season, again hasn't been confirmed. May well be that 12BET (sponsors of Latics) will take over as 188BET did last year.

Bet Fred bought tote out for £240 000 000 over the next 10 years. Bet Freds right and man comes on talksport breakfast every morning and heard it first hand

Wasnt it before the monopolies commision or some similar government body before they sanctioned the deal?

the Tote was set up by the government (churchill?) to stop people being ripped off by unscrupulous bookies, plus the government cream a bit off and put some back into the HRB dont they?

Totepool is staying as a section of Betfred. As part of the takeover Betfred are reviewing the sponsership deals. The call and a few other departments are staying at wigan but theres alot moving over to warrington.

Basically the only visable thing that will remain of the Tote is Totepool.... The rest of us will become part of Betfred.
