Hi folks has anyone got a decent picture of our trophy cabinet?? And all the trophies?
My wife who is from Bolton is just starting to get into rugby and despite me telling her how successful we have been in the past for some reason she won't believe me

All the trophies are there even the old Lancashire Cup and Regal Trophy and not forgetting the LEAGUE LEADERS TROPHY awarded to us because we were the last team to win it before the introduction of Super League. Read and weep Dire fans.

I understand Gaddaffi has been found hiding in the Latics trophy cabinet, he said if it wasn't for the dust making him sneeze he could have stayed undetected for many years

Always remember a tale about Dave Whelan and the Latics before the first football game at the JJB. It was a friendly against Manchester United. It was that year United won the treble and their players were parading the trophies out on the pitch when Dave said to one of his staff 'Go and get out our trophy we won last year. Not exactly the same Dave. It was the Windscreen Wiper cup they had won, sorry Auto Widscreen Cup. Pure quality, what a plank!

Indeed we do share it with the Latics, most of their stuff though are things that teams have given them e.g. to mark the first game against Man u in the premiership, that sort of thing

Not wishing to show my age...but it was called the RL Championship Trophy, not League Leaders. And the reason we got to keep it was not because we were the last team to win it, but because we'd won it the most times. Same with the Lancashire Cup.

And it really says it all about Latics when a cr@ppy pennant they've been given by United takes pride of place.

Is it me or does looking at the older trophies next to the new ones really remind you that they really don't make them like they used to?

Are the ones left and right of it the old Championship trophy and the Lancashire Cup? Proper trophies them. The new SL one looks a bit naff next to them.

Kind of agree, although I think the SL trophy looks pretty good.

The only one I can't see is the Regal Trophy, not sure why it would be missing.

Believe it or not I understand that the Crystal presented to Brenda Spence (Latics chief exec or summat) on her retirment is also on show!

Wigan were the last winners however I do believe that nobody from the RFL actually gave Wigan that trophy - that would be like Liverpool being awarded the old Football League trophy prior to the Prem League - in a sport that is run properly however that would never happen as there are over 100+ years of winners etched into history - of course if somebody can prove me wrong and that Wigan were officially given that trophy I'm happy to retract that statement.

The Rugby League Championship Trophy was renamed First Division Championship Trophy when the league system changed in the early 70s. The league leaders were awarded the trophy after the regular league format then the top 8 teams played off for the Premiership Trophy. I wonder where that one is now?

Will have to take a walk over and check it out. Now that the Challenge Cup has been added would be great to see them all together again.
