people who say faz is horrendous need to start watching the game !!!! faz will give 200% every time he plays , he missed 1 tackle last week and now he is horrendous , but add 40 tackles made to that , he his a team player and will run his heart out everytime he plays for wigan !!!!!

he s not horrendous i really like him .But his last game wasnt his best and to say he missed 1 tackle his a joke he was falling off tackles for fun . but he just had a off game i have not seen any 1 on this forum call him horrendous

Back on to Faz however, I watched last weeks game and thought he was quiet but then I seen the stats regarding his tackling and was shocked



Defensively you cant knock him, attacking wise he has dropped a level or two... but im sure he will be back sooner rather than later.

He certainly wasn't horrendous in the last minute of the last saints game! 

He needs a few weeks in the 20's imo

He's a class player everyone knows it but he just seems slow since he got injured all he needs is match fitness back

I thought he was poor last week as well and then saw he made 40 tackles.

However the one he did miss was an absolute shocker on Manu as he let him stroll through for a try and highlighted the perceived weakness than Madge has identified according to rumours, that he isn't tough enough in the tackle. Needs some more weeks in Tough Club, but would still have him in the squad tomorrow ahead of Hock.

He didn't play shocking last week. He just had one or two moments where he lost concentration.

I would play him instead of Hock. We have enough class in our side, we don't need Hock for this game. We need someone to work their socks off. Faz and Cross to play for me.

I think Faz is a little unlucky in that he's not a very aggressive player and that's not always the best for a back row forward. It's reflected in his tackling. He just doesn't seem to hit as hard as some other players and it means he loses the collision sometimes.
I think he's a little unfortunate because he's probably better suited to loose forward. As a second row he's pretty small and it counts against him. At 13 you can afford to have a slightly smaller player and he seems to do better down the middle using his footwork against bigger forwards. Out wide he doesn't really have the power to cause many problems. He'd probably defend better at loose forward too, as he could do the Cameron Smith role and follow the play being the third man in tackling the legs.

As for the Hull game, Faz got a lot of criticism for missing the tackle on Manu but you have to bear in mind that he was trying to tackle exactly how he is told to by Maguire. As the first man into the tackle he is told to go high, even though common sense says it's a mismatch against someone as powerful as Manu.

I agree with everyone one of the comments as above. But is this not a classic case of the second year syndrome?

I think him being dropped / injured has shaken his confidence a little bit, but still a class player. Don't think anyone thinks otherwise.

Farrell is outstanding and I don't think anyone has described him as that and if they have they're clueless. He is doing what a lot of top class players have done and having a bit of a struggle in their 2nd season but he'll get there and will go on to become an international player.

He struggled at Hull regardless of making 40 tackles but i'd play him from the bench today because he has a history of causing St Helens problems. He was fantastic in the Grand Final and on Good Friday and it would boost his confidence back up to give him a shot today.

I've said before I thought last season he came in and looked as comfortable straight away in the first team that i've ever seen a young player look. I think he's fantastic and i'm as excited by the prospect of what he'll achieve now as I was 12 months ago.
